Matala Dimitris Villa

Anywhere within a short walk of beautiful Matala beach is good. This was superb value, in a quiet location off the main drag with plenty of parking. Room was quiet, clean. Could have had a better mattress, but on the whole a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and even though breakfast is pretty basic, everything else is very good.

The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from Matala (beware - the walkway is quite dark) and it is probably the best feature to mention. The staff are friendly enough, breakfast is same every morning and the hot water is a bit of a hit and miss.

place is simple, but very clean and well maintained, some problems with hot water in the morning, in the evening is fine, for those who offer it with diNner count your money, dinner is full for your stomic thats for sure, nothing fancy, but is rally good to feel full. you'll get nothing simillaar for the same price in town. In general is a nice place, regular 2.5 star for the comfort, real 4 star for total.

Matala Dimitis Villa The location is great only 10 minutes from town. The hotel with the pool is a very nice place to stay. After my arrival I was asked to stay in a room that was not requested by me, but they corrected this after two days. The only minus of my experience is that sometimes there was no hot water and that they should upgrade their WIFI service, often I had my connection cancelled do to a bad reception. Overall the people are very nice and helpful. When you are there you should ask Elena about her experience during the hippies reunion in 2011. For sure she can tell you some interesting stories. This is a good place to stay and I can recommend it. CL

The hosts were nice but location not that great. It was green so at night it was very pleasant.

The hotel met all expectations (quite simple but very clean and comfortable enough), the staff was very nice and the place was maybe a five minute walk from the "centre" of the charming village of Matala. What more could you ask for? We didn't try their breakfast but it looked fine. Note to self: book two nights instead of one in places like this - you'll want to stay.

While stuff and cleanliness were fine to me, the hotel could benefit from a bit better interior design. In the hotel I found a room with old bad, old mattress, shower that I couldn't attach to the wall. On the bright sight the hostess was very worm and welcoming.

This hotel is a little off the beaten path, it's located in the town of Matala on the south shore of Crete. If you're looking for a nice little beach town with some charm, this is it. The hotel itself is very bare bones. No real amenities, the only problem we had with the place was the shower which wasn't the best. The one upside was the price, which was very reasonable. I would say if you're looking to unplug from life for a while, become one with nature, this is the place to go if you don't need the creature comforts you usually find at hotels. But if your looking for more of a relax, beachey resort everything is taken care of type of vacation, I'd stay somewhere else.

For the price, the Villa Dimitris has lots of character. Nice new deck-level pool. Pleasant pool-side bar and breakfast room. Breakfast buffet same everyday but good choice. Rooms the usual Greek style, but most have very private balcony. Air conditioning and TV but no English-speaking channels. Easy walk to beach and restaurants. Staff very helpful, linen changed daily. I would go again.
