Homewood Suites by Hilton Sarasota

As my family and I were preparing for bed our 1st night we made a disturbing discovery: live bed bugs on the pillowcase and inside the pillow itself. I immediately went to the front desk to report the issue. I was informed by the desk personnel that the hotel had no other rooms available. I then requested their assistance in securing a room at a nearby Hilton property, which I was told they could not or would not do. I asked to speak with a manager, but was informed that one manager was on vacation and the other would not respond to a text message at that time of night. The hotel offered no assistance or alternative solutions, leaving my family without a safe place to sleep. I then personally contacted the Hilton customer service number. Thankfully, the corporate customer service team was professional, empathetic, and ultimately provided a complimentary room for us at a different hotel location. I was informed the general manager would contact us the next day to follow up, but no call was received that day or the day after. At this point we discovered that we were charged for the second night. When my husband eventually contacted the GM's (which we had proactively do) we were told that while the hotel found no indication of bed bugs, they would process a refund anyway. Note, if we didn’t check our credit cards or contact the GM this refund would not have been provided. The most disappointing aspect of this entire ordeal was not necessarily the bed bugs or the lack of available rooms, as sometimes these things are beyond immediate control, but the profound lack of customer service, empathy, and follow-up from the front desk staff and the general manager. Given my experience and after reading many other online reviews mentioning ongoing issues with pest control and poor management follow-up at this specific location, I strongly advise all travelers to be cautious when making reservations at this Hilton location.

Todo impecable, un hotel al que volvemos cada vez que estamos en Sarasota, el personal es absolutamente amable y bien predispuesto, las instalaciones están muy bien, especialmente la piscina y el jacuzzi, el desayuno es abundante y bien servido, un hotel al que no se puede dejar de volver.

Very disappointed in this Hilton. This is more of a motel than a hotel. It's not kept up. Rooms are dingy windows are filthy.. you cannot use the water to make coffee. You have to buy bottled water. We had trouble with the coffee machine. I tried two coffee pots still didn't work correctly Out TV wasn't working had to call maintenance and the door to the balcony was stuck another job for maintenance gentleman was very nice who helped On a good note staff were very nice and friendly

We had to ask for towels a few times since house keeping didn’t restock every other day when they came in to clean up the room and it would’ve been nice to have biscuits and gravy at least once for breakfast in our 8 night stay but still can’t complain. Many options for breakfast

Muy buen desayuno, muy completo, variado y de muy buena calidad. Hotel algo antiguo pero confortable y bien mantenido. Muy buena ubicación con proximidad a las playas y al UTC.

Gimnasio y piscina son muy chicos para la cantidad de habitaciones del hotel.

La suite est louee pour 4 adultes avec un grand lit et un canapé lit. Le canapé est inutilisable pour dormir dedans, et nius avons failli aller dormir dans la voiture!!! Dans la cuisine il n'y a que 2 chaises et nous n'avions de serviettes que pour 3 personnes. Ce n'est absolument pas adapté piur 4 adultes. L'appartement sur booking est loué pour 65 m2 et en realite fait 45m2

This review reflects my full experience from start to finish. On the first day of our stay, we found dirty socks and a heavily soiled used towel under the sofa bed in our room. This raised immediate concerns about hygiene and housekeeping standards. When I reported this to the front desk, staff repeatedly asked if I wanted to stay or leave instead of addressing the issue. I clearly stated that I wanted to stay. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times in the past and chose it again for that reason. The General Manager, Tiffany, told me that “there are many hotels around,” offering no solution, no room change, and no apology. Despite this, we attempted to continue our stay. We planned to stay two additional nights. Management allowed only one night with a partial discount and then refused to extend our stay further. On the final day, the manager Tiffany aggressively insisted that my family and I leave the hotel. We were forced to check out against our wishes. This felt like retaliation for reporting a legitimate cleanliness issue. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience.
