"Bait & Switch --- Time Share, undisclosed fees and baying dogs"

This was originally booked through hotels.com. Which appears that they have either dropped that reservation or removed it entirety from my account. We stayed over the weekend checking in on Friday after a 4 Hour drive to arrive at the front desk at around 8 PM to be told that there was going to be a $50 additional fee no problem. It would've been helpful had that been disclosed at time of booking but OK here's $50 "cleaning fee." This after being told they don't "service" the room. And then this is where the interrogation started they asked us three times if we had a boat, a trailer or a dog . No we don't have any of those things and don't own any of them either and finally we were told to go pick up our parking pass from the concierge. So moving over to that desk after they dump four or five pieces of paper on us to get the parking pass for a gated community, now another 10 minute presentation on why we should sign up for breakfast and get a timeshare presentation .Mind you it's 8 o'clock at night. We just drove four hours, been working all day. Haven't even seen the room yet, but they're already trying to get you to sign up for a timeshare. The only way this guy would be quiet is if when I told him we already owned a Disney timeshare and then his attitude and demeanor changed Immediately . Fine let me get the parking pass so I don't have to come back up here again since it seems like everything in the first 30 minutes was bait and switch. Well, the real bait switch was about to come when behold we get to the raom and of course it's on the first floor and a complete obstruction by brushes, bushes, and trees of a lake that I have paid extra to view. Not to be out done with that. They have now placed us right next to some loud air conditioners that sound like a 747 going on and off every time those things kicked off in the 86° heat. Not exactly the view that I had paid for or the quiet and peaceful place that I expected to stay at. The room was clean, well it didn't have any salt and pepper shakers or any other basic necessities, One might find or expect in such a place There was one package of coffee that had leaked all over the place. The whole resort is really about trying to engage you somehow with all of these sales presentations and the myriad of trips that housekeeping must have to make in order to get you such a basic thing as coffee and a salt and pepper shaker. And finally, listening to a baying beagle at 2 o'clock in the morning. Sounds like fun for you, then perhaps maybe this is your place! If not, then don't bother complaining to management because according to hotels.com who called on our behalf about the cleaning fee and the view problem, the manager was not going to be moved, and of course, they never did respond whenever we asked to speak to them. We've been going to Branson area hotels for about 25 years. I've stayed in many places in that area and further south and Arkansas. This was easily one of the worst experiences I've had.
