Hounds Tooth Inn

The location of the hotel is quite good and the exteriors are quite beautiful but that's really the only positive thing. The welcome on arrival was pleasant.

What to say? The hotel is very dated and completely outdated by today's standards. The aperitif meal on arrival and the breakfast do not correspond at all to the photos. The bread is stale, hard and there isn't even a spatula to take the bread. We had to beg for scrambled eggs, which ended up being dry. No ham, no bacon, no yogurt... In the room, everything is old. It looks like a nursing home room with a spa bath right in the middle. The heating sounds like a lawnmower, which prevents you from sleeping. Honestly it's not even worth half the price. And I miss the lack of courtesy and smile from the breakfast person. If you can, spend your $300 on a better hotel.

It's a lovely little inn. Positives - It's clean, and air-conditioning works a treat. The innkeepers are lovely and hospitable - you can help yourself to tea, coffee and apples anytime which is great. Shower pressure is great. The thing is, it's not a luxury hotel and the room rate is waaaaaay too much for what you get. My criticisms are probably a bit picky, but for the price you expect a luxury experience and the Hounds Tooth just hits 3 star vibes. If I had been paying 3 star rates I'd have been really pleased with the experience. You'll have a nice stay there 100%. But..for the price, it's absurd and the amenities, room and especially bathroom are not able to deliver on the luxury price tag. For example - the inside of the bathroom cupboard hasn't been wiped down and is clearly dirty (you won't notice this unless you open an empty cupboard but in a luxury property this would not escape housekeeping notice), sound proofing is poor between floors and neighbouring rooms. Would I stay again? Absolutely if it was at least 40% cheaper. For the current rates? no probably not.

Couldn’t walk to restaurants. Sparkling water instead of wine reception. No pastries at breakfast only dry bagels and bread . I don’t like hot cooked breakfast or stir fry!

My wife and I were very pleased with our stay. The room was really nice and clean, the whole place was very inviting and warm. Breakfast was very nice too.

There is nothing negative to say.

The place is very cute and in a quiet location. The staff and breakfast were the best parts of our stay. The staff was available, friendly, and helpful! Breakfast had plenty of yummy options. The room wasn’t bad but not “luxury”, the bed was pretty firm and the heater was making a clicking noise that woke me up sometimes. We stayed two nights, and did not realize house keeping would come in while we were out, personally I would have preferred they just passed us up since we didn’t ask for it. It was definitely a good stay, just not quite what we were expecting.
