Hounds Tooth Inn

Very friendly staff. Cosy neighborhood. Nice road to Yosemite.

No elevator. Photos are better than the room in the reality. Requires renovation, especially bathroom and shower. No soundproof. Room had a shared door with adjacent suit. Breakfast scale can't satisfy all visitors. We were waiting for pancakes for 10 mins and when arrived they end up instantly.

Excellent staff. They're very competent and friendly.

It was wonderful! Only problem being outside furniture a bit rickety.

A little out of town Oakhurst but slightly closer to Yosemite NP. Room 11 good size with spa bath. Breakfasts provided and afternoon nibbles with sparkling water. Easy parking. Friendly staff. Lovely property.

The Hounds Tooth Inn is NOT a luxury hotel. It is bare minimum. While the breakfasts are decent, not special, the room is sub-par, not enough towel racks or counter space, terrible low end tv service, happy hour no wine, average pre-made packaged hor d’oeuvres. Falsely advertised as a “spa” (jetted tub in some rooms only ???) Totally over priced, an average 2-star bnb at the most. They dpent more on their marketing book than on upgrades to the rooms.

Nice location, despite still being 30+ minutes from Yosemite gates. For the most part clean and well kept.

Overall not a bad place but not at all worth the price they are asking. We were placed in what essentially amounted to the basement. It was dark with only one small window. Though the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom looked like it had been transplanted from the 80's - a tiny bath wedged in with a toilet into a tiny room. We did have a jacuzzi in the main room but would have taken hours to fill. A pointless frill. The breakfast and afternoon wine reception was really hyped, but I found the food and preparation middling at best. Cold cuts and pepper jack cheese at the reception and warmed up frozen pastries for breakfast. Milk curdled when I added it to my tea. It was all the little details that really made the difference. And it is the details that define a high end experience that Houndstooth is presenting it's self as. But it is in the details that it fails miserably. At $500+/night I expect food, service, and the room to be top notch, crisp, attentive. Really the whole experience felt like a redneck's idea of luxury rather than curated by an experienced refined eye.

Location was great, very friendly staff. Great breakfast we would highly recommend this property.
