Lovely place but the road is too busy to walk into Oakhurst. Best breakfast we had in California. Great selection and it was nice to have a hot option. Really liked the wine and nibbles option in the evening. It was a lovely idea and gave you the chance to chat with other customers if you wanted to.

Wouldn't recommend room 8 if you're a light sleeper. There was some sort of machinery outside that constantly hummed, which impacted on our sleep.

The room was spacious, however the layout and furniture selection made it feel sparse. A very small bathroom, with the sink in the bedroom. There was very little room to store your clothes if you wanted to unpack. They took our breakfast order for the next day when we checked in. We had to leave a note to change our selection for the second day. They had three options for breakfast, with the same sides all three days. I ordered a mushroom and onion omelet the first day but they ran out of mushrooms. They only had 4 choices for ingredients and didn’t have one of them. The evening wine reception was nothing like the photos. We had meat and cheese and crackers and some green olives from a jar. We only went to the reception two nights but it was exactly the same both nights. The website shows a gym, but there was not one. We paid for an upgrade to get a room with a fireplace. The fireplace didn’t work. We reported it twice, it was not fixed. When we checked out the supervisor blamed us, saying that the day they had maintenance personnel we had the do not disturb sign on. We had out for two ours on day of our three night stay. After much conversation she agreed to refund us the difference. That was 3 days ago and we have not received a refund. Save your money and stay at the Hampton Inn.

We booked a room to celebrate our anniversary. We were greeted by a very friendly lady who checked us in and told us that charging our EV was free to their guests. She then explained our three breakfast options of an omelette, eggs cooked to order or biscuits and gravy, each with sides of potatoes and sausages. Milk or orange juice were other choices. The room (#3) was large with a king sized bed and a large jacuzzi tub in the room. The bathroom was also larger than average with a walk in shower that had 2 shower heads. The room was air conditioned and had a coffee maker and a refrigerator. Unfortunately, we arrived late after spending a long day at Yosemite National Park, so we were not able to fully enjoy everything this property had to offer.

Great accommodation at a fair price. Excellent, friendly staff and a good location for entry into Yosemite and surrounding attractions. Breakfast was among the best, and evening welcome snacks and drinks a nice touch. Cosy, classy little hotel with ev charging on site

What a real find! Houndstooth is charming, unassuming, quiet, nestled in a beautiful canyon with well apportioned bedrooms and breakfast room. The staff were so full of personality that made our stay special! Just outside of Yosemite national Park short drives to lakes, hikes, and beautiful vistas!
