Tensing Pen Hotel

We typically stay on the beach when we visit Jamaica but I decided to try something new so we stayed West End side of Negril instead of 7 mile beach. It was my husband birthday celebration and we were NOT disappointed. We loved it!! The views were out of this world spectacular. The grounds were quiet and tranquil and full of trees and flowers. Our ocean view room was breathtaking. We watched the sunset from our balcony. We had trees surrounding our balcony so it felt like we were on a private island. Some additional details beds were super comfortable I personally hated the pillows because they were soft instead of firm. There was no TV in the room but we didn’t care. We wanted to relax. Bathroom was very spacious but water pressure not so great. My only complaint is against the food. I wasn’t impressed and to be fair my husband is a chef so my palette and standard is VERY high. I thought food was a bit overcooked for my personal taste. Otherwise staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will definitely return. Bonus this location is walking distance to the famous Rick’s Cafe.

An absolutely amazing property with attentive caring staff. This is my second trip to Negril and my first visit at this property and it will be where I return in the future. You are made to feel like family. You are close enough to 7-mile beach to get there via a short taxi ride, can walk to Rick's, and yet it feels isolated, peaceful, and quiet. Just perfect.

we stayed here 3 days and left for our other resort...only to return 3 more times to tensing Pen to enjoy the property. They were so accomodating. This place has an amazing feel for it and never dissapointed us.

AMAZING! You can't beat the natural beauty of these cliffs! Stay right on the water in a private bungalow among the trees and listen to the waves crashing into the cliffs, lulling you into sleep. Safely jump from these cliffs into crystal clear, warm Caribbean waters and snorkel with beautiful tropical fish. You're gonna love this unique boutique hotel that gives you unobstructed west-facing views of the sunset. Romantic, quiet, secluded, paradise.

What can I say about this awesome hotel that other reviews haven't already said? Incredible service all around. Special thanks to Niney for the nature walk/tour and all of the great tips he gave us about native vegetation whenever we saw him. Great food at the on-site restaurant. Great service from the bar. Impeccable grounds. We stayed in the lowest priced garden view room which was awesome but wasn't very private as there was a walk-way right in front and we had to leave the shades/slats on the windows closed at all times. I highly suggest spending the extra $25 or so a night for an upgrade garden room which also have larger balconies and provide a bit more privacy. There are a few restaraunt options within walking distance including the famous Rick's Cafe. If you want a beach experience, it's a cab ride away to get to the beach for more restaraunt and shopping options. I'd suggest that if you have an extended vacation planned, spend 2-3 nights at a place on the 7 mile beach and wrap up with a week at Tensing Pen. Be aware that there are two large "house dogs", Tensing and Beezy, that roam the hotel freely but they are gentle and want to be everyone's friend. I just mention in case there are folks afraid of dogs that should be aware. We will definitely be back!

This property is extremely unique and the best place to relax. The staff is amazing and the property is like no other. The views are breathtaking. We will definitely be back to Tensing Pen!!!

The staff is exceptionally solicitous and welcoming. The grounds are idyllic and even the resident canines (Tensing and Beezy), two Rhodesian Ridgebacks are super friendly. I can't recommend this resort highly enough. My second time there, but not my last.

Simply beautiful! Pictures do not do it justice. I know views are amazing, but take the cheaper route and get A/C. In late September, it was still very hot.
