Tensing Pen Hotel

Food was best along with the clear water. Outside shower was a surprise. Cleanliness and service were top notch. Would consider coming back.

If you can’t relax here you have a major problem! Nice large rooms and good food. Beautiful setting.

The staff was very friendly and the property gorgeous and unique. For us perfect. If you are looking to be entertained by others this is not the place for you. It is a pretty quiet and relaxing place. Our only complaint was that the room is quite dark at night even worth the bedside tables on so if you want to read an actual book or newspaper it is a bit of a struggle to see it!

Tensing Pen is on the cliffs of Negril. The sea is at your door and its sound is all over. Guests are in individual houses --- all with balconies most overlooking the sea. It is small, intimate, lovely, quiet and many guests have been returning for years. Staff is friendly - this is boutique and intimate, but not elegant or stiff. This is not a cookie cutter place. It is lovely.

The service was personalized and top notch... the complimentary beer stocked in the mini fridge in your room was a great and nice touch.

This place is awesome. You can jump off the cliffs and bridge and our room was like a tree house. Not your typical resort, by far. The locals at the bars across the street were fun, definitely had a great time there too. And Beezy is the best dog. Reminded me of my big pup back home. She was our tour guide when we got to the resort and slept in our room every night. She was always close by. Rick’s is about a 5 minute walk. Everything and everyone was perfect. The only thing I’d caution others about is our room did not have air conditioning, which was ok the first day and night but kinda irritating the next night when it was hotter and more humid. Beezy still didn’t mind though! We hope to visit again soon!

The staff is amazing! Shernette and Razor along with the office staff they were all fantastic. The room we checked into had a strong odor of smoke, after making staff aware we were moved to a new room. Tending Pen is lovely, however it is a little dated and could use some updates, but it wouldn’t keep us from staying there again.

If you want slow service, go to this hotel. NOTHING moves quickly there but again it is Jamaica. The rooms have nothing in them but a bed and a bathroom. The room you get makes a big difference so know where you will be located. Some are almost streetside. Some are more quaint with porches and thatch roofing. The food is not good in my own personal opinion. The cliffs are cool but there is no sand anywhere which I missed. The dog on the property is low key but sits on all the chairs which I didn't like. The people working at the hotel know nothing about the hotel itself. They don't know why it is named what it is nor can they answer even general questions about it. Whatever you do, leave the hotel an browse the local area and no matter how long the drive, go see the other sights that you think would be fun to see. Most sight seeing places are 2-3 hour drives from this hotel.
