"Wouldnt do it again"

6.0

Rooms are simple but comfortable. The food buffets are also simple but there is enough variety for the different tastes within a family, including children. The swimming pool is small but great to have on warm afternoons. The bedroom cleaning staff goes all out in decorating the towel arrangements, the kids were very amised each day.

The boat is a bit outdated, with dirty carpets. Our shower door was broken. Drinks not included. All staff expects tips at all times, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and for any small gesture. Tours not included and at a high cost (350USD per person with no discount for children). We didnt take the tours as we wanted flexibilty with children planning our own schedules, but the reception of the boat has no concierge and was not at all helpful, they dont even want to say in which direction you need to walk in from the boat to the temple. The dock in Luxor is very far from the center, and a taxi into town or into Karnak and Luxor temples is hard to find, while many other cruises dock right in front of the tempels.

"This Cruise Saved our Egypt Vacation"

9.0

This was absolutely the highlight of our vacation in Egypt. All the staff were the nicest people we met in Egypt especially the dining room team. The tour guides were also amazing very knowledgeable, well-spoken and very nice. The ship its self was surprisingly pleasant, clean and spatious and the views of the nile just amazing. We had very bad experiences visiting Cairo (hassling, transfer issues almost causing us to lose flight home) but this Cruise and the nice people we met along the way is what we choose to remember from this vacation.

Wifi was poor/non-existant but it's a minor fault. Bring a book and disconnect :)

"OK experience, could do with some improvements"

7.0

Generally a good experience. Boat is a reasonable size and has a tiny pool, sun deck area etc.

The boat is decent, but please note this is definitely not what I would consider a 'luxury' cruise - I paid more as it was marketed this way, but I think all of the boats are pretty standard. They're relatively basic. The staff are very friendly and well-intended but quite inefficient / disorganised. I was quite taken aback by the lack of organisation. Firstly I've never done a cruise before. Check in says 12pm so I hurried to get there at 12, but some information leading up would have been great (boat was docked at the departure dock overnight which would have been helpful to know). Upon check in (which took 45 minutes), no information was given about the boat, what's on it, where things are, meal times etc. Literally no information. I had to ask every single question. Then when I asked about the additional tour package (which is expensive, but worth doing) the front desk had no idea about the tours at all and what would be done, when, on each day. I understand they partner with a local tour company, but if they do this every day, they should be much more proactive about knowing very basic information. They also don't give you a day by day itinerary, they just say 'check the night before and we'll tell you what's happening the next day' which isn't helpful - again the same tours happen each week so it should be a very easy thing to solve. Secondly the curtains don't fully close (built that way) in the rooms, meaning the sun shines right through. Some nights the multiple boats sailing are docked right next to each other (touching) and when this happens it means you're glass to glass with a neighbour's room on another boat, so curtains would be handy... Also this removes your view. Can also be really noisy around all the other boats. Buffets are Western - a shame. The boat has a laundry service but it was wildly expensive. Also, expect to not have any wifi the entire cruise. It does not work at all.

Excellent food options, room have windows opening right onto the water when the boat is sailing. Generally a worthwhile way to cruise on the Nile, the scenery is wonderful and the temples/sites along the way well worth a visit. Most of the staff was friendly, the dining staff especially.

Beware of booking the 450 USD tour package option on top of the cruise price. This price is an astronomical surcharge and a seasoned traveler, with some research and preparation booking on sites like Trip Advisor, could book drivers/guides in Luxor, Edfu, and Aswan for a fraction of this price. Kom Ombo temple is a short walk away from the dock with excellent explanations, so that is totally feasible for a cruise passenger on foot. I booked this 450 USD option and regret it very much, it soon became obvious the drivers and guides were only being compensated a fraction of this cost (I learned that with site tickets, a full-day guide, and a driver, a day of visit should be 50-60 USD at most). For the 7-night cruise, the boat spent long stretches of time docked at the port of various cities, and sailing time is very short in comparison. When docked, the boat is often right next to other boats, resulting in your cabin being completely obstructed by other boats. For this reason I would opt for the 4-night option if I were to do this again, as docked time can feel very long and repetitive with the 7-night option. While most of the staff was great the reception staff could sometimes be a bit condescending or intrusive with their questions (I was a young woman traveling alone).
