Sunset Nam Ngum tented resort

I loved staying here. It was quiet, very clean, food was very nice. The view of the reservoir from the room was breathtaking, and the balcony had a sofa and a table. I didn’t want to leave this place. The sunsets were so beautiful. It’s quite far from the center of Vang Vieng but I didn’t mind as I rented a motorbike which takes 35-40 minutes. You can use the kayak and the paddle board from the hotel for free.

It’s a bit tricky to get to, but the owner sends you the map and the explanation. It’s not what google maps shows exactly.

Food was reasonably priced and tasty. Room was clean bed was comfortable. Quiet location with a nice view of the lake.

The site would benefit from a tidy up and removal of rubble and rubbish lying around. Safety could be improved by having some lighting between restaurant area and the cabins, also by having a railing around the raised deck outside the room. Also a door between the bedroom and the bathroom would improve the experience ( the half curtain doesn't give much privacy).

Simple but cosy cabin. Beautiful views over the lake. Owner has a kayak and a sup board you can use for free. Small restaurant where the food is very reasonably priced if you look at the remote location! Friendly owner.

Some things in the cabin could be renovated a bit.

- the beauty and scenery and quietude - it’s a small resort with a laid back, accommodating and gentle owner who cares about the relationship and guest experience. Also very helpful! - the communal area - wonderful friendly guests - the modern rooms looking over the lake - the friendly playful dogs - best dogs we have met on our travels and add such a wonderful atmosphere - free kayaks and paddle boarding on the lake - the accommodating staff who made our meals vegan and even let us cook - wildlife - the free roaming buffalos who will delight you with their sweet faces if you are lucky enough to see them!
