Sunset Nam Ngum tented resort

Friendly owner, staff, dogs and water buffalos :) Free use of kayak and SUP to explore the lake and even a nearby town. Good food options in the restaurant. Outstanding view from the room and terrace. Perfect, if you want the opposite of VV.

Would be great to have a kettle for coffee and tea in the room.

The slightly remote location surrounded by nature right on the lake shore with beautiful views was fantastic. Nice porch overlooking the lake, comfy bed, use of kayaks, super happy, playful dogs.

Only a slight improvement would be mosquito nets on windows, so could keep them open and a small fridge.

Lovely place with beautiful views over the lake, we even had view over the water from our bed! Super friendly staff and helpful and kind owner. The room was bright, clean and very modern with a great terrace overlooking the lake and little islands. Will definitely come back!

Nothing! Maybe a few more menu options would be good, but for 2 nights it was no problem.

The remote location makes you feel isolated and far from the hustle and bustle from city life (although it’s only a 30-40 min car ride from central vang vieng. The resort is located right by the lake and they offer kayak and boat rides you can do on your own. As of November 22 they only keep two double rooms open for booking. before covid it was a tent resort as well but these tents are now being replaced by wooden bungalows instead. the on site restaurants offers basic but good food, and is basically your only option unless you want to go into the local village (about 5 min by tuk tuk). we stayed for to days and didn’t move further than between our room (which has a great terrace overlooking the lake) and the restaurant, and loved it. everything was clean and nice, and the staff are so nice and helpful! highly recommend coming here!

this was not a must for us, but there is no Wi-Fi available, as the resort is located to far from the village. great connection if you have a local sim card with data though:)
