Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Mankato

We had to stay the night as there was a blizzard in the area. I wish I would have checked the reviews before I booked. The walkway was not shoveled so you had to walk through drifts to get to parking lot. I would hate to think of a wheelchair having to traverse that. The only place shoveled was right by the door so people could go out and have smoke breaks. The Emergency exit door was not shoveled out either. Glad there wasn’t a fire! The breakfast was the WORST breakfast I’ve ever had. The pictures of the hotel on Trip advisor look nothing like the actual hotel. There is no business center. The breakfast area does not have nice cabinetry. Breakfast consisted of waffles, Cheerios or Frosted Flakes, a bagel/toast or chocolate chip muffins. No fruit, no yogurt. I opted for a bagel with cream cheese and jelly. The jelly was runny. Literally liquid! I don’t know if it was old or what. A worker seemed to be skulking about and giving us the stink eye when we were in the lobby and another patron kept going back and forth to window and room. It gave a drug deal vibe. And the smell!! Not pleasant. I would not stay here again!!

Hotel room was not clean. Sheets were stained/ripped. Food spilled on side of bed. Bathroom was very gross.

The waffle bar was excellent!

When we arrived, the room was 60 degrees. Also, we had to have someone come up and wipe down the nightstand. The remote, paper with the channel list, and the nightstand were sticky. The back of the toilet seat was also dirty. I used to stay here often about 10 years ago, and it was always clean. Now, I don't know if I will stay there again.
