Overall, everything was good. I only had a problem with not being able to order food to the room and things that was on the website saying that was in the room was not in the room available to us like water. I could’ve brought my water if I knew they wasn’t gonna have the water, but it said they have free water.

"Great Hotel, Staff - HORRENDOUS FOOD"

6.0

We stayed at Blue Harbor this past weekend, Dec 6-8. The hotel is beautiful, the view of the lake is spectacular, the rooms comfortable. Every staff member we encountered were friendly, courteous and professional. The food however, was HORRENDOUS. We arrived Friday night, hungry and ready for a meal, based on the how the hotel looks we fully expected at least a 4 star meal. The menu was minimal at best, not a lot of selections, the restaurant was empty, meaning we 8 were there only customers for dinner. So some of the items that were ordered were the Sheboygan Steam Sandwich, it says steak patty, but that's a bit of a stretch, it was a thin hamburger with cheese on it nothing more, no caramelized onions and the roll that was supposed to be a Sheboygan hard roll was more like a burger bun. Another item was a burger rare, the burger was so rare, that the outside was a light gray and the inside was raw, not rare, raw. The only thing that I can say was good was the Bucatini Alfredo, everything else was pretty dismal. We decided to have dinner at a restaurant outside of the resort on Saturday, more about that later. On the day of departure, the kids went to the water park and enjoyed the morning, we headed down to try out breakfast, and sadly it was no better than Friday's dinner. I ordered the Sailor's Corned Beef Hash, it is made with a root vegetable medley and topped with two eggs. What I actually received was a root vegetable medley that was under cooked, still crunchy vegetables and little tiny bits of corned beef. The food was cold, under cooked and served with 1 egg not 2. I also asked for toast instead of a pastry, which was told was a chocolate chip muffin, I got a blueberry muffin and two little crostini's that was called toast. There was also a cheddar omelet that had a small sprinkle of cheddar over the top of the omelet, nothing inside. My husband was going to give the muffin to our grandson to eat , but had the forethought to break in to the muffin first because he didn't sense it was chocolate chip, discovered it was blue berry....thank goodness he did that because the grandson is allergic to blueberries. To say the food was a disappointment is an understatement. Both meals we ate there was no one in the dining room, no excuse for mistakes and poor quality food especially when the kitchen wasn't slammed My suggestion to anyone visiting Blue Harbor is make a plan for eating before arrival. There are a few places right outside the main entrance, we did eat at one of them for dinner but again was very disappointed in the quality and portion size of the meals compared to the price we paid. See what is in the area and maybe plan to get out and see the sites in Sheboygan get a better meal than you'll get at the resort or immediate area.

This is a great hotel waterpark option for families to get away. The waterpark is clean. Staff is friendly and it’s not too crowded. This is our second stay with them. We will definitely be back.

Amazing views, great amenities and the most wonderful and professional staff. Definitely going back. Was a little pricy in some aspects but not in a way that would be cause for a complaint. Definitely worth every penny.

"Great destination hotel for families- indoor waterpark, outdoor pool, and beach!"

8.0

We had a lovely weekend here mid September. This resort is enormous and beautiful. My 7 year old was so impressed when we pulled up in the parking lot. The resort is huge. It had a an outdoor heated pool, lawn chairs around fire pits (and s'mores in the evening) with some lawn games, beach access, and the indoor water park, and a gym. The indoor water park is the main reason we came, but we also swam in the outdoor pool and the beach (even though it was mid Sept and starting to get slightly chilly). The indoor water park is small but nice. There are a few medium big water slides, and 2 medium water slides, and some tiny water slides for toddlers. There's a giant bucket that dumps water out not very frequently (it annoyed my son he couldn't figure out how and when to be there to get water dumped on him). The nice thing about the water park is that it's contained enough and small enough space that we let our kid have some independence and do his own thing. It was pretty easy to spot him within a couple of minutes from anywhere. The wave pool was boring, it needed so much currents to push people along. It also had a Riptide surf simulator. We had never seen one of these before. We tried it several times. It is so hard. Some kids started to get good at it. My husband was decent. Our kid and I got thrown around a bunch. We tried until we got hurt. I'm glad I tried, not very many moms did this. We had a great weekend and would return!

"Great Fall Weekend Getaway"

8.0

Our family of four, including two kids aged 2 and 4 had a great time for our 2-night stay in mid-October. We took advantage of a special weekend rate and felt it was a good value for our experience, with a few caveats. We would stay here again! The resort is wonderfully located. We were in a first floor room, and were glad to have upgraded to the lake view. Sunrise right out the window, and we were able to walk right out to the beach anytime we liked. Resort plays up the advantage of its location well, there is a wonderful lakeside running/walking path, easy access to a large soft sand beach, chairs sprawled everywhere for enjoying the view, lots of lawn games, and bonfire circles that were lit each evening of our stay. Within walking distance is an ice cream shop, a small variety of cafes/restaurants, coffee shop, book store, etc. Within a very short drive are a number of parks/playgrounds, another good sized beach, an amazing children's museum, and many other things we didn't get to explore during our visit, but hope to next time. We were impressed with the friendly and attentive service, and exceptional waterpark staff. We really enjoyed all of the onsite activities (all geared toward Halloween, so perhaps these are seasonal). Our visit was in the off-season, so it truly felt like a relaxing getaway. We never had an issue getting a chairs and table at the waterpark, and had a bonfire ring all to ourselves one evening. If you look closely (or in some areas, not that closely) you'll see the wear and tear, particularly in the rooms. Our pull out couch mattress was badly stained. There were cobwebs in more than one corner. Patio door curtain had several visible holes. An odd complaint: there was hardly any decoration in our room, and while it was enormous, it didn't feel very cozy/homey. Furnishings and fixtures in the room were just generally dated, but overall in good working order. This resort is huge, so I get that it is likely an extremely labor intensive, and never-ending, endeavor to keep it clean. Outside of this, I probably would have given our stay a five-star review. Positives: Wonderful service all around (front desk, restaurants, waterpark/lifeguards, event staff-- just amazing), amenities offered, onsite seasonal activities, huge room, amazing location and views. Negatives: Rooms are in need of updating, cleanliness was lacking (though not enough to be a turn off) Favorites of our stay: The waterpark, all of the fun Halloween activities and the wonderful staff onsite, walking to Eb Flo for coffee & croffles, Above & Beyond Children's Museum, South Pier Parlor, Deland Park, The Gameboard
