Villa Matildis

Roberto and his wife were fabulous hosts. As a woman travelling alone they made me feel safe and welcome! It felt as though I were staying with family! The property is lovely and peaceful. The space was extremely clean, bright and welcoming. I had some clothes that needed ironing and they welcomed me into their home (on the property) and ironed my clothes while I was entertained by their adorable, sweet dog! I had to leave early in the am and Roberto greeted me in the garden with cappuccino and cookies and made sure I got off ok. I was very grateful for their warmth and hospitality and hope that I'm in the area again so I can stay at Villa Matildis!

I didn't have time to enjoy one of Roberto's meals! Hopefully I'll have more time on my next trip!

Our host Roberto was in constant contact with us. He had arranged for us to go to a restaurant and made the booking. Unfortunately, the boat we took from Patras to Ancona was 8 hours’ late. He waited up for us until 2 am! Villa Matildis is beautifully restored and decorated, with exquisite items of furniture. The bathroom was superb - as was the breakfast prepared freshly for us by Roberto.

The owners/host were so warm and hospitable. Really made us feel very welcome and homy. Antonella’s cappuccino is amazing.

Nothing except the farms nearby were putting organic fertilizers and … it smelled like cow manure in the terrace. Ha ha.

Special breakfast and Roberto was very engaging and made us feel special.

The host was very friendly and nice. He made dinner reservations for us. The property is beautiful. Quiet and peaceful. Very well kept and very clean. We felt well.
