Amazing well preserved original old historical hotel

Beautiful hotel, marrying past and present. Comfortable, shabby chic, clean, romantic. If you like historic hotels that have retained their charm, this is your place.

Beautiful quaint hotel property that is updated in a historical building. Our room was very clean and large with a small eating area that was the perfect size for 2. Loved the decor in our room as well as the lobby. Easy walking to shops and restaurants and a very short drive to the ferry.

This place is old! If that’s your thing you’ll love it. It was clean. No elevator so you have to lug your suitcases/bags up the stairs. I found it a little creepy. TVs were tiny. Guy at the front desk at night was a little odd to ne too. I prefer more updated amenities.

We made the Palace Hotel our base for three nights while celebrating recent nuptials. This Victorian building is full of character with high ceilings and very generous lounging spaces. Quiet and comfortable for a good night’s sleep. All meals are taken in cafes and restaurants a few steps away. Some require reservations a few weeks in advance because of demand in high season. World class hiking 1.5hr drive away. Very pleasant walks around town and port for non-hikers. Day trips on the ferry. Bring wind breakers!

The chicken process was interesting because nobody asked for our IDs and then you have to carry your suitcase up the 20 foot flight of stairs and when we woke up, we had some roaches running around so I would say overall it’s not what we expected

I LOVE the Palace Hotel. It's definitely a place of a lot of history and tales. The last time I stayed at the Palace was in the newer rooms. This time, I made certain to stay in a room with more "character". Miss Alice's room to be precise. The host and staff and are always welcoming. The only downside was I stayed one night. Otherwise, it's the first place I'll check for availability if I'm staying in the area!

nice location and building

Palace Hotel Port Townsend is centrally located on Main Street. It is a charming old hotel with friendly staff. Be aware there is no elevator (as in many old & historic hotels). We asked for help with our luggage and it was provided. There is parking in the back. It was perfect for us!
