"Exceptional"

10.0

It was amazing. It took y breath away. Brought me back to my roots with the experience. Reminded me of my childhood back 60 years ago. Friendly and accommodating. I would recommend it to my family for visiting. Rustic. Reminds me of the old fashion hotels. Service was great and friendly.

It's not fancy, but staying at a 100+ year old establishment is an experience. Friendly staff, uber points for history. We really enjoyed the room, hiking, the porches, and the yummy breakfast!!

It's a 100 year old lodge with mostly original features and full of antiques, common bathroom and small rooms.

"Quaint and Memorable"

8.0

We were originally a little put off by the communal bathrooms, but what this lacked in the creature comforts that come with our typical stays at the Marriott, it more than made up for in charm. A key room with more than 3,000 keys from around the world, a library that's more like a cozy nook in your grandma's house with an extensive collection of National Geographic magazines, warm cookies by the fire at 8:00 p.m., a free 3-course breakfast in the morning and great stories from the staff. I was originally hesitant to stay there, but by the time we left, I was actually a little sad to leave! It was by far the most memorable hotel stay on our trip.

"Cozy "

8.0

We loved our experience at the inn. It has a very cozy feel to it. The staff and patrons were all great. Breakfast is served to you and is not just a buffet. The breakfast tasted amazing as well. The inn has a great view of the mountains and Estes Park. Late at night the staff brought everyone warm drinks and brownies. It was nice to relax by the fireplace too. Loved the experience. The room, however, no so much. It could have been nicer and cleaner. We understand it is a 100 yr old hotel, but the sink in the room was a bit nasty. The night stand and furniture have seen better days. We didn't realize it was a shared bath situation, but the bathrooms were very clean.

"A historic gem tucked in Estes Pk"

8.0

This ain't no Ritz, pls don't expect a lavish, luxurious, pampered stay. If you are looking for a quaint, rustic, back woods getaway, this place is a great stay. Tucked in Estes Park next to Lilly Lake, Baldpate is a historic gem that provided nice service with a nice breakfast and lunch offering. The view from our room was picturesque - mist covered trees and mountain side made for a beautiful backdrop. Our room had 2 queen beds, each with the full compliment of sheets, covers, pillows, etc. The room also has a sink only - no bathroom. Bathrooms and showers are down the hall, a la dorm style. The porch/balcony is an excellent place to sip coffee at dawn, the mist slowly burning away as the sun rises. The crisp mountain air has to be experienced to be believed. Our breakfast (it varies) included an orange/blueberry muffin w fresh raspberries, a big slice of potato/cheese quiche w bacon strips, and a large cinnamon roll. Lunch is an assortment of homemade soups and fresh pies. The surrounding area is beautiful Estes Park - not much more needs to be said of how beautiful this place is. If you want more variety of eateries, a 10min scenic drive into town will reward you with some quality restaurants from BBQs to sit down candle lit dining with live music. Drive down the main road and there will be a cafe that, aside from really good coffee drinks, has a terrific crowd of friendly ducks hoping and waiting for some dried corn kernel treats. A memorable weekend trip!
