Illusion Boutique Hotel

Perfect location, if u stay on the street side too much noise from the clubs very noisy

First, it was hard to find which hotel I was booked. There are 12 boutique hotels in town, and I had to ride taxi 3 times to find out the one I was booked. Second, the price I paid was too high for this type of hotel. The hotel is on par to 50 dollars hotel in town. I have to say that the persons were very nice but it does not to justify the high price.

If you enjoy listening to thumping music every night until 3am and don’t mind a very basic room with hard beds - this is the place for you then. We paid for breakfast to be included, they give you a voucher to another hotel in Playa Del Carmen which you have to walk to, once there we got charged again saying it wasn’t included even though we gave them the voucher.

Luciano the person in front desk was so friendly and very helpful , great location , breakfast included always have good option nice people there too, housekeeper they keep your room clean every day and that is fantastic

Room is far from the pictures, loose door handles, fungus on the wall of my bedroom and extreme noise from bar below the hotel. Would not recommend this place

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. It recently changed management. Prior to arrival I asked for early check in. The hotel replied if a room was available it was not a problem, When I got there they said I wasn.t able to check in. Check in was at three. Went to the beach and tried again a few hours later. This time they told me I could check in but they would charge me per hour that I was early. They had rooms all along as they were almost empty but the inexperienced kids at reception didn't want to tell me there was an extra charge per hour. Stayed here two months earlier and it was good. This time the pool was murky and dirty. The same construction drywall and dirt stayed in the elevator for two days. The interior courtyard hadn't been cleaned for weeks. The new owners should not be in the hospitality business . I travel alot and for many years Never felt the need to post a bad review before..

Wi-Fi wasn't working even tho I asked to fix it.

Needed an inexpensive hotel for one night before our compnay retreat. This hotel was one block from where the retreat was, so it was very convenient. Its a quirky boutique hotel half a block from the beach and 5th Avenue. Very well located. Check in was super easy. The elevator motor was very loud. The room was sparsely decorated. Big king bed, one wicker chair with a side table and that was it. The entire other half of the room was empty. The only window we had looked out to a stairwell and had the hirricane shutters closed for security. The door could only be locked from inside or outside the room with that key so if theres more than o of you. You
