Super 8 by Wyndham Redfield

I was coming to Redfield, SD a family gathering. When I checked Hotel.com, this was the only hotel/motel I could find in Redfield. I booked a room with a queen bed, but was assigned a room with a full size bed. I mentioned this to the front desk, he looked at the computer and the said the computer said it was a queen. It was not. In general the room was not horrible, but considering what I paid for, this was not a great room. The furniture needed work. Some of the drawers did not close and the furniture was old and needed to be replaced. The sheets were dingy (?). Clean, but old and dingy. The bathroom was the smallest Ive ever seen. If the the vanity was 30" wide, I'd be surprised. Usually the toilet sits in an area at least 30" wide (I designed homes, commercial properties, etc) and again, if it was 25" I'd be surprised. While using the toilet, you literary had no room to turn and I banged my right elbow on the vanity numerous times. The toilet paper was mounted on the other site of the vanity by the door because they was no where else in this small space to mount to. If you have short arms, you might need to get up to get TP. The rack that held the towels was partial overhanging the shower. A curved show curtain rod kept the towels getting wet. The mounting brackets for the curtain rod fell out of wall the last morning we were there. We were busy most of our 3 days and were not the room much. This place needs some TLC. The staff was friendly.

It was filthy… the carpet was spongy, the bathroom was filthy, and there were ants in the room. The management was unapologetic.

They charged $40 a day for our pets, this was not listed on the web site.

Bathroom commode had not been flushed upon our arrival. Bed was wrinkled as if it had been slept on. There were two remotes, one for HULU, and one regular. No instructions anywhere. I went to the kitchen area to pick up some salt. The clerk said they did not have any salt.

This motel is in desperate need of some upgrades. Very dirty throughout the rooms, especially the bathrooms (dirty shower curtains, towels, ceiling fans, and floors). The AC units are noisy and hard to regulate. The staff were wonderful and that was the best part of the stay. I hope they find a way to make some needed updates as I think customers would gladly pay more for a cleaner and nicer room.

The only hotel option close to Aberdeen SD because of girls stay high school softball tourney. This hotel needs updating!

Coffee cups were too big for coffee maker, exhaust fan in bathroom did not work, breakfast could be from 6-10 instead of 6-9

Clean, run down, needs some updating. Breakfast was ok, but no hot foods. Staff was helpful when asked.

Only complaint is that the motel is "pet friendly" only if you pay an extra $20 per dog per night when you check in
