Fantastic!

Breakfast in room was great exceeded expectation

The hotel indicates they are dog friendly. It was not clear during booking process at booking.com that there was any need to notify the hotel or about an extra fee for bringing a dog. Upon arriving I was informed that there was a $250 Fee for up to a week stay. We were staying one night and asked that it be reduced. It was pushed back and forth between the front desk staff and a manager. Not until departure did we meet the manager - able to discuss the issue. I presented my request and received an icy cold response that "if we had not booked through booking.com the standard fee for small dogs is $350. She was essentially telling me I should be grateful. While I could easily give the hotel and especially the rest of the staff my highest recommendation for service . . . . the experience with the manager and the failure to accommodate for a one night stay shows a lack of reasonable application of the "rules". We Come to Carmel four of five times a year staying between one to four days at a time. To be sure we will not return. More to say they poisoned the word of mouth reference we will give this hotel for the sake of a few pennies. The attitude was poor.

Well located hotel in Carmel. Good value. Staff service was not up to past stays.
