The facility is old and in desperate need of refurbishment. The staff is very nice and the food is very good.

The photos of the hotel online must be 20 years old, the hotel is very run down and in need of a complete facelift, from the front door to each individual room. I was afraid to open my window due to all the bugs on the windowsill. There were dead bugs on the floor of the room I cleaned as I moved my stuff in. There were cobwebs on the lamp shades and one lamp didn't even work. The chair in the room had lost its cushioning years ago. There was no TV in the room and outside of WiFi, there was no cell service. The pier/dock footings were bent at a dangerous angle, I'm surprised it was even open for guests. The highlight was the restaurant and the staff. The food was excellent (which was good since there was nowhere else around to eat) and the staff treated you like family.

We had a mixed experience here; would never return nor recommend. Very run-down accommodations, overworked dinner waitstaff, grounds liablilites in the dark (if you have to walk from the cottage or parking lot to the main house at night), zero amenities in the cottage rooms (aside from a space heater), and a shower drain that gurgled all night long. One star for the lake, which is beautiful (if you can find the right equipment, good for kayaking or a canoe ride), and one for the breakfast, which was much better than the dinner we had there.

The food was outstanding. The blueberry pancakes had local blueberries and were homemade. We checked in late and Sari (the owner) was so kind and showed us around, even when we arrived after 9:30pm. This rustic abode is a historic stop in time with beautiful views off the beaten path. However, the room in cottage we had there was no TV (not a big deal) and no WiFi which meant hanging out at the tired lodge front porch. This property is clearly still recovering from COVID. The property is tired and could use a good once over. Cleanliness was decent, but over all the property needs some attention. We booked 2 night, only stayed for 1 and didn’t even ask for a refund. The property clearly needs the money more than I do.

Great old building and good food at a good price. The Inn is a gem but needs a major update. I was on a fishing trip and it met my needs. The staff was excellent. Many people would not be comfortable with the condition of the property. It's a sweet old building across from a lake and it just needs investment money and TLC.

This was probably once a cozy lakeside retreat but it has fallen on hard times. The staff go through the motions of being innkeepers but their heart isn't in it. It's been many years since I stayed at a place that cost this much and was treated to such an uncaring, unfriendly reception and service throughout our stay. Everything about the place is tired...the decor, the beds and bathroom, the little lake dock, even the ping pong tables were rickety and the balls were mostly half deflated. Its sad to see a place that has so much potential being run in such an unprofessional manner.

We booked this hotel based on Expedias pictures which were nothing like the hotel. They must have been 30 years old. The shingles were falling off the building neumous holes in the siding, grass overgrown. Dingy and dank . Spelled like mold inside and the dock did not look safe. We did not stay. I was actually afraid it might burn down while I was sleeping!
