We stayed at this hotel with my husband, and the room cost us €700 per night. What did we actually get for this price? When we arrived, we had to wait for an hour before check-in. After that, we were told that our room had been upgraded and were taken upstairs. We were in a great mood, excited and tired after the trip, trusting the Kempinski brand for its quality. But when we entered the room, it was completely dirty: the bed was unmade, sheets thrown on the floor, and empty beer bottles left behind. We were shocked. The staff apologized and took us out of the room. After another short wait, we were led to a different room, this time by the Main Front Desk Manager, since the hotel wanted to make up for the incident. They promised us a complimentary fruit plate and a bottle of wine. I said we don’t drink wine, but fruit was fine. Ten minutes later, we received the “fruit plate.” You can see from my photos what Kempinski considers a welcome gesture: just two apples, not fresh, clearly wrapped under plastic. Needless to say, we didn’t touch them. The new room itself was also very run-down, not at all the standard you would expect from Kempinski — I’ve attached photos for reference. In the morning we went to the gym. One treadmill was broken, so I had to use the elliptical. After finishing my workout, I picked up my phone and discovered it was covered in grease. Apparently, I had placed it into the phone holder that was dirty with black oi. As for the Main Front Desk Manager, unfortunately, our experience with him was also extremely negative. He repeatedly tried to mislead us. For example, we were told at check-in that our room had already been upgraded, but later he claimed the upgrade was only given because of the dirty room incident. This was not true. And when we were checking out — with suitcases and our transfer already waiting — he suddenly said, “Oh, I just wanted to extend your stay.” Of course, this was useless at that point, and felt insincere.

Tired property. Terrible restaùrant staff. Unresponsive. Inept. Very few speak English or know what "tea"; "milk"; or "ice" mean. This in an international chain. The eateries are mediocre and grossly overpriced. Cheapest wine bottle at one is €120, for a €15 bottle. Shower didn't drain properly. Disappointing overall, given the beautiful location.
