Courtyard by Marriott Columbia

We had a 3 reservation for 3 day stay. We had NO housekeeping the entire time and were handed towels at the desk when we complained. They said they would talk to housekeeping (but we received no supplies other than towels. We were told the hotel could(would) do nothing to accommodate because we booked through Expedia. They were entirely inconsiderate and liked like they couldn’t care less. I would not recommend this hotel (and therefore their chain) at all.

It was a great stay, easy to check in with our dog. They even had treats at the counter and a pet relief area. Conveniently located without too much noise from the interstate.

When I arrived in the evening, the parking lot and exterior lights were completely dark. If it wasn’t for lights in the room, I would’ve thought the hotel was closed. Felt very unsafe. Fortunately my car was still in the parking lot in the morning and appeared to be unharmed. I was here for a short stay, fortunately, and found this place to be very underwhelming. The bed was uncomfortable. The air conditioner worked on occasion and this place seems like it needs a facelift. The worst part was that I was leaving very early in the morning and wanted some coffee while I finished emails in the room. None was available until 6 AM and it was for purchase only. Forced me to run to the local gas station and , have some of their coffee. Yum! Lol.

The room was ice cold and there were no maintance man. To fix it.

The hotel emailed us within a week of arriving, stating that they had extra late check outs due to the college game that night ( turned out it was the whole away team) and we had to wait 3 hours til after 6 pm to check in so they could clean all the rooms. We had our plans set, couldn’t arrive later so we went to nearby state park and hiked after an 11 hour drive. No thank you or anything for our inconvenience was given. Bathroom was dirty, many holes in the walls, and the bedding was dirty from some brown stain. Overall, not pleased with this 348$ a night room. So very disappointed as I expected more from this chain.

The room decor was exquisite and so pleasing. Staff was kind and courteous. Very quiet. Parking was great.
