The White Hart Hotel

Having stayed previously, we were looking forward to returning. It is ideally located with parking, aircon, offers a good breakfast and nice outdoor seating.

Upon checkin we were told "it was hotel policy" to pay in full even though we had a credit card guaranteeing the room. As a friend was paying for our room, who had not yet arrived, we were told sorry you need to call them and ask if they will pay. So we called them and asked, of course they said yes. It was a farce as the receptionist never even spoke to them so we could have been calling anyone. Secondly, a dog had evidently slept on our bed as the blanket and top of the duvet were covered in black dog hairs. We checked in the bed and it looked clean. I took the blanket to the receptionist as we did not want it in our room and handed it to her, explaining about the hairs. She simply took it and never said anything, like it was normal. Thankfully we don't have allergies but anyone checking in with allergies would have a nasty reaction. We understand that they accept dogs but really should advise if we are going to be staying in a dog friendly room, wash the blankets and check for hairs! Such a shame as this is normally a lovely place to stay.

Location. Excellent dinner on the patio. Best fish and chips of our trip. Lamb and brille were fantastic.

Service challenges this weekend at breakfast. Rooms were uncomfortably warm at times. AC cut off after a short while.

Welcoming dog friendly small hotel, excellent location for Kingston and Hampton court. Welcoming staff, special mention to Georgina on reception who was kind and friendly, spacious and quiet room at the back, free parking and the most comfortable bed ever. Will return.

Good location for Hampton Court Palace

Staff : we weren’t made aware that there was a 15% discount on food until after we had paid for our lunch . Breakfast was under resourced and it took an hour and 10 minutes to get served - cooked breakfast was average at best . Overall breakfast was an unenjoyable experience. Rooms are average , there is air con but it kept cutting out. In general this hotel felt as if it is being neglected . We have stayed twice before but unlikely we would stay again despite its convenient location .
