Stunning hotel in a fantastic location. Hotel rooms comfortable and clean. Pet pack for our dog was a lovely addition. Friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious and the lovely lady (sorry can’t remember her name) serving us was an absolute credit to the hotel. So friendly and made sure we were looking forward to after to an extremely high standard.

Unfortunately the evening dining didn’t meet our expectations. Because we were travelling with our dog we were only given one choice of restaurants to eat at. The restaurant was the 1906. We were set up a table next to the door which wasn’t ideal. We asked if we could order from another menu as we would have preferred a different menu. We were then asked to move as that table was for 1906 diners only. We were then told we couldn’t order from the other menu we could only order from the 1906 menu. We were tired and hungry so reluctantly agreed. They did allow our 14 year old to order from the duel in the sun menu but not myself and husband. We were then again asked to move tables back to where we were originally sat. We have never stayed in a 5 star hotel which was so inflexible before.

Beautiful setting. Staff lovely, helpful and friendly.

Towels, bath robe were not clean. One of the bath robes had dubious stains on and there were still make up stains on one of the towels.
