Victoria & Alfred Hotel by NEWMARK

We started our 3 week holiday here with 4 nights in this excellent hotel. After a very warm greeting we were shown to our huge room which had all the amenities we could ask for. The location on the Waterfront is excellent - staff on the reception desk, concierge, bar, breakfast and dinner were all really helpful and friendly - Food was excellent too - The views from the dock side tables of Table Mountain were stunning

Very disappointing experience — unacceptable for this price I stayed at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel and paid 851 € for 2 nights, expecting the level of comfort and service associated with a premium hotel. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. There was no hot water in my room for two consecutive mornings. The first evening I had hot water, but the next morning there was none. Later that same day, when I tried to take a bath in the evening, the water was only lukewarm. I informed the hotel about the issue. The following morning, again no hot water, and I was told to go and take a shower at the spa instead of being able to use my own room. For a hotel of this standard, this is simply not acceptable. To make matters worse, no compensation or goodwill gesture was offered, despite the repeated inconvenience and my clear dissatisfaction. On the morning of check-out, I even received a phone call reminding me to leave the room because it was 11:10 instead of 11:00, even though the delay was caused by the lack of hot water. This felt completely inappropriate given the situation. The hotel placed a notice in the room about temporary water interruption, but this does not justify the lack of proper service recovery or compensation. For the price paid, this level of service is unacceptable. I would not stay here again.

The location was very good and access easy. Our room overlooked the Marina and had excellent views.

This is our third visit and we brought friends on this occasion. Fabulous location, great size rooms and bed extremely comfortable Staff extremely friendly and helpful Will not stay anywhere else when visiting Cape Town

We stayed here for two wonderful nights at the start of a trip for wedding. Everything was wonderful, from the perfect location and views to the staff. Our room and bathroom was perfect. The bed, pillows and linens were sublime and the WiFi and mineral water much appreciated. Lovely toiletries too. I’m a wheelchair / crutches user at the moment so the walk in shower was perfect, especially the non-slip tiled floor surface. After checking into our room I was super impressed that, without me asking, the room attendant went to a neighboring hotel and found a plastic chair for me to use in the shower. That really is impressive and personalized service! All of the staff we met were fantastic. Ginja restaurant is wonderful (and I’ve reviewed that separately). Highly recommended!
