The Fresh Coast Inn at Ludington

Lovely property & location. Room 5 was very drafty and cold with the older windows and ac unit still in the window. Room temperature dropped to 58 F overnight.

...die Strassen sind schon recht laut wahrzunehmen...hat aber uns jetzt nicht sonderlich gestört. 3 Betten sind in einem Raum. Nur 1 Bett durch eine Tür abgetrennt - aber für Familien OK. Das geteilte WC mit der Dusche ist nicht Jedermanns/-fraus Sache

The breakfast was amazing, and it was nice to eat at a table with another couple. A great way to meet some new people. The decor was so fitting for the house turned B & B. We had the attic, which was huge and so quaint. Just loved it.

Getting in was a little tricky, but we got it sorted out, and then carrying our suitcases up 33 steps was a challenge.

Nice location and the family suite we stayed in was fun (3rd floor attic). Breakfast was excellent.

We were awoken in the middle of the night with a bat flying around our room. When we told the staff about it, they made it seem like it was no big deal because older homes have a hard time keeping bats out of the rooms. They didn’t offer any accommodation for this so I would not recommend staying there.

There was absolutely nothing I liked about this property.

I stayed here one night in late August 2025. My day began at 4 am and after a long day of golf at three courses in Ludington, I arrived at this property at roughly 9 pm and was exhausted. The property is an old home, built in 1889, that has been converted to an "inn". It has paper thin walls and very creaky floors. I can only speak to room no.5, the one I stayed in for one long miserable night. The room is small, which was not the issue, I was only passing through and literally only needed the proverbial roof over my head for a few hours. The en suite bathroom is a converted closet and was absolutely laughable. The shower is barely 24 x 36, if that, and all I could think while trying to shower was my wife could never shave her legs in this. The toilet part of this bathroom is also minuscule , a few inches wider than the toilet itself and not much deeper, either. But the very worst part of my stay revolved around the fact that the property is located on the corner of two very busy roads, Washington and East Ludington. My room overlooked that intersection. There is a stop light at this intersection, and maybe because it's a 25 mph road, it is red a lot. This means cars have to Stop, and then Go. This means they accelerate, and this my dear friend means NOISE as in a LOT OF IT All Night Loooooong. Instead of counting sheep, I began to count how many loud cars there are in Ludington. I lost track but I can assure you it is a LOT! If I got an hours sleep that night I would be surprised. Oh and that fabulous breakfast everyone raves about, well it's served at 9 am, but because I had another full day of golf planned, I'll never know because I left around 8. I desperately wanted / needed a coffee to go but the Keurig was out of water so that did not happen, adding further insult to injury.

This Inn is best viewed at a distance. Overall the Inn needs maintenance and upgrades. The bed in our room was old and creaky to the point that it kept us awake. A lot of road noise as well. Breakfast at 9 AM. Unfortunately, no coffee available or breakfast and we needed to get on the road. We left and ate elsewhere. They were understaffed apparently. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Breakfast was wonderful and they were kind enough to bring it directly to our room. The Inn was very quiet and we had a wonderful stay in our cozy room. Beautiful old home - perfect for a bed and breakfast!

The shower in our room could have been a touch cleaner, but nothing to really complain about.
