Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort

The hotel is located in the most stunning position on Boka Bay. The superior sea facing Room and subsequently the villa we which had were both beautiful! All members of staff were exceptionally friendly and professional, especially Tara, Milos and Luka. Good location to explore all the sites in Montenegro. Would definitely love to go back!

My birthday week at the Hyatt Regency in Kotor was, in a word, disastrous. We chose this hotel for a special celebration, expecting a five star luxury experience as advertised. Instead, we were treated like second class citizens, consistently sidelined by large group bookings and private events. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that individual guests were not a priority. The beautiful breakfast terrace and other facilities we were so excited about were closed off, forcing us into a bland, viewless back room. This pattern continued throughout our stay for non private event guests. We were turned away from several on site restaurants, all booked for private parties, and to our utter shock, even the beach and it's restaurant were closed to us at one point and we were left to wander off site to find a supermarket for a sausage roll for lunch. This is not the standard you expect to pay for at a five star resort. The atmosphere was more like a cheap 18/30's party venue than a tranquil luxury retreat. The loud, incessant thumping music from private events made relaxation impossible. After two separate meetings with management expressing our concerns, the noise only worsened, with music so loud one evening that the entire building reverberated, preventing any sleep. Management's response was a mere "sorry for the inconvenience" and a complimentary bottle of wine, which was frankly an insult. The staff who had to deal with our frustration were just as exasperated, clearly caught in the middle of poor corporate management decisions. Ultimately, we paid for a five star experience with access to all facilities, but we received a half baked imitation. The lack of transparency on booking about these private events and the blatant disregard for paying guests is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. We urge management to step out of their "corporate ivory tower" and see the impact their executive choices have on customers and staff alike. After reading countless other reviews, I've realised their response to complaints is nothing but a carefully rehearsed script. They offer the same tired "sorry for the inconvenience, and a token gesture, then do absolutely nothing to fix the underlying issues. It's clear they don't actually care about guest satisfaction, they just want to make the problem go away. They'll say they're "looking into it," but it's an empty promise. They're happy to collect your money while prioritising private events, leaving everyday guests to suffer. The fact that so many people have had the exact same experience with the exact same dismissive response speaks volumes. This isn't a one off mistake, it's a deliberate and insulting business model. Save your time and money. Don't fall for their scripted apologies. Also, it's interesting that they never respond to the bad reviews here on trip advisor which speaks volumes. I cannot and certainly will not recommend this hotel under any circumstances. Room Tip: Avoid at all costs this hotel is more like a 18/30's party venue definitely not 5 star luxury!!!

Beautiful views and good hotel. Very overpriced for what the hotel is. We travel a lot and know what a hotel in that price point should sort of be like. We can’t say anything negative as we really used it to relax for 3 days. We spent our time at the beach most of the time as the pools were freezing. Staff was very nice and the hotel was very clean. I will say you’re really paying for the views and the clean beach. Waking up to that view justifies the price in a way. Also very good water pressure.

We stayed at the hotel for a long weekend in celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary choosing the hotel because of its idilllic and quiet setting. Whilst we were there the hotel was taken over by a very large corporate party from a travel agency. Which was ironic as we found out during our stay they had very little respect for their fellow travellers. A large group put their sunbeds all around us on the beach, there wasn’t even a centimeter between our bed and theirs. As we were unable to relax at the beach, we moved to the pool area but when we got to the pool we could see more of the group had also taken over both pools and all sun loungers. They were all allowed to drink out of glass beer bottles in the pool which is the only hotel I’ve ever stayed at which has allowed this. After a day in the sun with plenty of alcohol (not even 6pm at this point) they were out shouting on their balconies to each other (unfortunately the hotel management hadn’t allocated rooms to the group in the same wing of the hotel, instead they were interspersed with other guests so we had people from the group to the left and right rooms to us, as well as below us). We knew at this point we’d be in trouble later in the evening. And sure enough we were - we were woken up at 2am when their evening conference finished, and again at 3am and 4am when the stragglers rolled in, and the man to the right us us was still sat in his balcony talking on his mobile phone at 6am. They weren’t quiet going to bed. We complained to reception when we went for breakfast and they apologised but by this point the damage had been done. We were glad we were going home that day as we feared that if we had stayed longer we would have been subject to more of the same. Whilst the hotel had good amenities, we felt that the hotel’s management really let us down. It had turned from a 5* hotel to an 18 to 30s holiday and wasn’t what was advertised or what we signed up for. Just a note too. The hotel is north facing and due to the topography of the mountains the hotel, pools and beach are in the shade from late afternoon (at least at the time of year we stayed). If you want more sun you may want to consider staying at the other side of the bay of Kotor. We found Kotor itself to be beautiful and really glad we made the day trip there (taxi’s from the hotel to old town are about 15 euros each way).

The hotel is big and very beautiful, but my stay was ruined by the reception service. When booking with points, I was told the upgrade could be free or guaranteed for €135. At check-in, Karim demanded €200 plus €35/day for breakfast and kept us waiting nearly an hour. Only after we were ready to leave he reduced it to 135 plus breakfast (though I was eligible for free upgrade) At check-out, he tried to charge for a restaurant we never visited. Breakfast was average — better pastries and fresh juice would improve it. I’ve been a loyal Hyatt guest for 14 years and usually received upgrades for free. This experience was humiliating and unprofessional.

Lovely hotel, great location, friendly & helpful staff. Nice pool area, lovely view of the Bay of Kotor. Lighthouse restaurant great food!

This hotel was fantastic - the view of the bay cannot be beat. We had 2 adults and 2 kids (age 7 & 9). It was great to spend the afternoons at the pool and the beach away from the city crowds. We ate at the breakfast buffet, Bliss Pool Bar, Ole, and Lighthouse. Enjoyed all the food. The best service we had was at the swim up pool bar. We were able to get picked up right from the dock at the Hyatt for a morning boat tour and in the evening for a private boat ride to dinner across the bay. Special thanks to Ana with guest experiences. She reached out to me before our arrival and helped coordinate an early check-in. She also connected me with Kareem (front office supervisor) who was helpful after our stay when my qualifying nights did not post to my account.

our stay was fantastic from beginning to end. all staff members were helpful and friendly. facilities were great. location and scenery magnificent
