Independence Square Lodge by Frias

Needs some serious updating in the rooms.

Pro: Great location for walking in Town and one block to Little Nell. We had unit #250 which has a great bathroom. Con: The street noise was annoying facing Cooper Avenue. We had no dishes or flatware and just one wine glass, had to get some basics from the store. This is our second stay here and will come again.

We had an amazing stay. The location was perfect for shuttle, skiing, wedding event venues, shopping... The hot tub views are incredible. Easy and clean.

Was an excellent location however we were there during off-season so I'm pretty sure since it's next to belly up in a bunch of restaurants on busy weekends it could get loud outside. Parking was a few blocks away so if you don't mind walking it should not be an issue. They could've had a few extra blankets available as well as heating working a little quicker but other than that we had a great stay. I would also not recommend this for anyone who is handicapped, elderly or with strollers as you have to go up and down stairs to get to the lobby without anyone to assist with luggage!

Fantastic property in Aspen and the price was phenomenal. The biggest issue I had was our bed. The mattress sagged a lot and we ended up rolling to the middle the whole time.

Convenient location. Transit center for free shuttle to and from airport and to Maroon Bells is a stone throw from the hotel. Free grab and go breakfast is a . The room I was billeted was on the side of the square so it can get loud during the nightime but that was tolerable. One gets rooftop access for a great view of Aspen and use of a hot tub. Had to figure out which of the two temperature controls. There is also a portable heater if worse cones to worst (although not sure if this hold to in other rooms). The microwave in my room did not work. Note there is no closet to hang your clothes and the pull out couch needs reupholstering. Not to forget one have to use the old fashion key to get inside the room . Otherwise you get the value if what you paid for. Staff - the front desk guy was friendly and helpful. There is no front desk person after 5 pm and a pw for the door is provided upon check in to get in the hotel after that hour. Generally despite the drawbacks, this hotel is great. I would come back to stay if I visit Aspen again.

This hotel is not ADA accessible. I could not even check-in. To get into the hotel you had to walk down a flight of stairs. Once you got inside, you had to walk down an even longer flight of stairs to get into the lobby.
