Resort was very well run, clean, comfortable and staff was outstanding. This is a locally run hotel, 90% staff are locals. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. If you're expecting a fancy, luxury hotel, this is not your place. It is a lovely, comfortable, well maintained, authentic hotel with 2 great restaurants attached and a nice bar with happy hour. Snorkelling off the private beach was quite nice. Even saw 3 manta rays during our stay. I would highly recommend Maitai. Great value!

Transfer vehicle from Vaitape was a bit rudimentary for the price. Although they met us on time, easy to find and driver was friendly.

The hotel allowed me to check in a little earlier, which was commendable. The employee Julia (I think her name was Julia, she was the curly-haired lady) speaks 5 languages ​​fluently and was helpful with some problems I had in Bora Bora that had nothing to do with the hotel. It's only because of Julia that the rating is 2 and not 1.

I paid 800 euros for a bungalow in this rather mediocre hotel. They labeled it a "special extra bungalow" and it's the most expensive part of their offer, where you can usually find a room for cca 250 euros. It was a waste of money, because the bungalow was boring, not luxurious at all, one of about twenty similar ones, and not in a very prestigious position, but somewhere in the middle of the bungalow block, and it looked bad. This is the downside of Bora Bora, on the main island, where there is only one beach worth mentioning, Matira, and it is pretty average, nowhere near the celebrated beauty of Bora Bora atoll. You have to cross a very busy road to get from the bungalows to the reception. There was construction work going on around the hotel. There was a lot of ​​dirt in the sea around the bungalow (photo). The toilet brush was broken and unusable. The internet in the bungalow was terrible and kept crashing. The breakfast was HORRIBLY bad, it was unbelievable that I paid such a high amount for such a bad hotel, pure fraud. In the end, there was a transvestite working at the reception, a lady who, with a deep and unpleasant voice, constantly reacted aggressively to whatever I asked her, so I stopped communicating with her/him. Let's face it, it's not important that she is a transvestite, but that she is terribly unkind.

Some of the restaurant waitresses were really funny and wouldn’t let you have a little sip of wine to know if you liked it before buying a glass. I asked for two and she said well you can’t taste all the wine. I think that’s a cultural thing from where people are to French Polynesia.
