The Grand Burstin Hotel

Room was clean, ample free parking (make sure to enter your registration number at reception), good location for both Leshuttle and Dover ferry port. A comfortable, no frills, good value for money room. I just needed a place to stay for the night before crossing to France, and it was great value for the purpose.

Nothing not to like really. You get what you pay for, and for what it cost I had no complaints at all.

Location was ideal for us travelling to the Chunnel crossing the next morning.

Hotel is very tired in general. Beds were incredibly uncomfortable, food was average in the bar. The buffet breakfast was reasonable. Staff didn't seem to care, telling two people they couldn't have hairdryers if the ones designated in their rooms had gone missing. Also advised the reception of a car with their windows left open, suggesting they may want to let the resident know (reg. no provided at check-in so easy enough to locate), staff shrugged when suggesting the owner would appreciate being told, but it seems they didn't as the windows were still open the next morning. Generally a very basic, and tired hotel. Would rather stay a little further from the Chunnel for a better quality hotel.

We got a room at 4th floor which is sea facing. Location is best - just on the beach.

We stayed there for 2 nights. Second day at the morning when we requested for a room service, the front-desk bluntly refused mentioning hotel's policy. It was quite awkward as the toilet become wet during morning use and we expected a cleaning which was refused rudely. Our Room was decent but we expected a better room at that price.

Hotel looks like it was build in 1960s and has not been redecorated since.
