Vila Gale Marina Resort Hotel

The best thing about this Hotel is the location. The Hotel needs a complete refurb. It’s clean but not a pleasant stay. We got stuck in the lift one evening. Two of our rooms had black outs for hours. The outside pool is lovely. The Spa is a definitely no, no. It was disgusting. Breakfast was lovely. Don’t go half board, the food was awful. I don’t go away to be served up fish fingers for my dinner.. not the price we paid. Finally one Girl at the Reception was rude and not at all welcoming. We would never stay here again!

Very good location

Stayed at the Vila Gale Marina for a 2 night trip to Portugal and it was ok. Read some not so great reviews and was a bit worried about the beds but the room was clean and comfortable and we got a good nights sleep on the bed. You have to request tea and coffee making equipment but it was brought to the room promptly. The staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive and accommodated everything we asked for. Breakfast was really nice, a good selection on offer and the omelettes were fab. We didn’t stay at the hotel for any other food as there is so much available in the local area. The hotel is a little tired and dated and in need of a refurb and to my mind is a 3 star not a 4 star hotel so if you are looking for 4 star it’s probably not the hotel for you. It wouldn’t be a place I would opt for for a longer holiday but was perfect for a couple of nights and other than the decor there’s not really much I could choose to fault it.

Friendly welcome and clean, tidy entrance. Good sized room with nice comfy bed and pillows. All rooms face marina so a good view wherever you stay. The bathroom has a standard hairdryer. Balcony a fair size with table and chairs. Great location for bars, restaurants and shops - a stones throw away from the marina. Cleaners were friendly but room wasn’t often cleaned until late afternoon/early evening. Morning breakfast had good selection of hot and cold food with a variety of eggs freshly cooked to order, alongside pancakes. Good drinks on offer too with a coffee machine available to use. Lovely pool area with seating areas. However, there were a few things that weren’t right for me personally… the room itself was very dark with not much natural light coming through, needed more storage and more plug sockets readily available near a mirror. The room do not come with tea/coffee facilities which was disappointing! Also the safe did not work. Every morning the bathroom had a smell of sewage but that did subsided across the duration of the day. The evenings are a bit lacklustre with not much of a buzz going on, I found the bar staff quite rude and on one occasion, they chose to continue admin work or cutting fruit rather than serve my family and I. All in all, a good stay but a few things do need updating, would probably rate as a 3* plus.

Wouldn't recommend if you have children, nothing for kids to do. Pool is freezing. Hot tub is a cold tub. Indoor pool you have to book and you only get 1 hour. Not allowed in the water without a cap even kids. No entertainment for kids other than colouring in in the club. Paid alot of money to be bored. Only thing that's perfect is the location. Hotel is dated. Breakfast is ok... Maybe experience would be better in peak time? Wouldn't return

Great location and friendly staff, room cleaned every day and cannot complain about the free breakfast, it's free, located just off the marina, all rooms face the pool/marina. animation yeam there everyday even when no kids, all in all a great short break away

Nice hotel, convenient for the marinas. Bit dated. And boy when you get in the lift and it moves...you will know it!

Another Excellent stay at Vila Gale Marina. We checked in with the friendly reception team on a Saturday morning and our room was available which was great after a 6.00 am Glasgow flight. Room 614 has a Marina and Sea view - Large Balcony - The Bedroom was Spotless- spacious - Comfortable bed and pillows - Plenty storage space - UK TV channels - Complimentary Safe and Water - Large shower room with Walk in Shower. The Breakfast Room had a great selection of everything Hot & Cold. The Staff in the hotel are Friendly and Attentive. I have stayed in this hotel many times over 20 years with no problems and when we return to Vilamoura it will be to the Vila Gale Marina once again.

well we arrived and greeted at reception area very friendly staff. The room clean and comfortable breakfast and evening meal lovely. all in all a wonderful hotel don’t understand negative review’s domestics came in everyday to clean rooms would recommend this hotel .
