Rooms and entire property was absolutely lovely. The decor was beyond beautiful. She gave us the wrong parking gate code which was a pain but easily fixed. Mistakes happen

Beautiful, elegant old hotel, fairly well maintained (carpets in room has seen better days, and the walls could use a touch up in areas to keep it to standard to seen in common areas of this hotel). Quiet and comfortable, conducive to a good nights sleep. Our best stay in Ireland yet.

The Imperial Hotel in Cork is, without a doubt, the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to Ireland! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the reception staff who made the check-in process smooth and welcoming. The ambiance of the hotel is truly royal, with elegant decor that immediately sets the tone for a special stay. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and both the bedroom and bathroom felt luxurious and thoughtfully designed. We were welcomed with light snacks, which was such a thoughtful touch and made us feel right at home. There’s a lovely lobby lounge with coffee available, and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic—a perfect blend of traditional Irish fare and continental options, all fresh and delicious. I honestly can’t think of a single thing that was lacking. From the warm and attentive staff to the immaculate cleanliness and stunning decor, this was easily the best hotel experience we had in Ireland. I only wish we had stayed longer—highly recommend to anyone visiting Cork!

Myself and my new husband stayed in the Michael Collins Suite in the Imperial Hotel on Sunday the 3rd of August for a total cost of 420 euro. It seemed expensive to us but we were happy to pay it as it was our honeymoon trip. Upon checking in at 3pm we rang to book into the spa as access to the spa was included in the room booking. We were told the pool closed at 4pm, giving us less than an hour to drop our bags to the room and go to the spa. When we did arrive in the spa there was a group of women filming the pool area which made us very uncomfortable and staff did not seem to be monitoring this. Also included in our package was a birdcage of desserts, however we received no cutlery to eat them. At breakfast we had requested an extra item, had to request it twice more before it eventually arrived after we had finished eating. We had stayed in a nearby hotel, The Kingsley, the night before where the staff couldn’t do enough to make it an enjoyable stay for half the price.

The hotel looks much better in the pictures than it does in person. The room was a good size, but it felt run-down and not very clean. The bathroom, in particular, was disappointing—there were scuff marks on the tub and stains on the shower walls, and the tub itself was unusually high and hard to get into. It just didn’t feel clean or comfortable. I understand and appreciate the hotel’s historical value, but I personally prefer more modern facilities and updated, cleaner bathrooms. That said, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the attached bar was a cool spot—kudos to them. It wasn’t a terrible stay, but overall the room and bathroom just weren’t for me.

We enjoyed our stay at the Imperial Hotel. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. (One quibble- the only window had frosted glass which made the room feel a bit enclosed. Even if there is no view to speak of, I would have rather been able to see out the window.) The staff are very helpful. The breakfast was very good. The location is excellent- It was easy to walk to many restaurants and it's close to the bus station. We really appreciated the bottled water that was provided daily. We would stay there again.

Fairly comfortable, older hotel, renovated in parts. Very friendly staff. Room temperature was difficult to control. Beds are a bit small.
