Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa

An immaculate stay. Checking in, the keen and friendly agent went over and above to get me everything I needed. I had a BLISSFUL one-hour massage in the spa with La-arni - she’s a miracle worker and really made my stay! Clean, modern rooms and fast WIFI. Top marks! Thank you to everyone who made my stay special.

The European style hotel room is small and has just the basics. However, the shower was not working (no hot water) and it required a plumber to repair it – after we had to leave for our dinner reservation.

Location and room.

The Sofitel Queenstown is in a fantastic location — right in the heart of town and within easy walking distance to everything. You really can’t beat the convenience. Parking, however, is on the pricey side at $50 per night, You can find cheaper on your own. Check-in was flawless, and the service throughout our entire stay was exceptional — staff were friendly, attentive, and made everything effortless. Our room was big, spacious, and looked recently renovated. The bathroom TV was a nice touch and added a bit of luxury. The main downside was our balcony. While it was huge, it opened directly onto a public walkway. There was no furniture on it, which I assume is because anyone could easily jump the small gate. It also felt a bit awkward having people able to see straight into our room — some frosted glass or glazing would go a long way. We ended up keeping the blinds closed the entire time for privacy. We visit Queenstown often and usually stay elsewhere, but decided to splurge on the Sofitel this time. While it’s a lovely hotel with great service and a perfect location, some of the cheaper stays we’ve had have been just as enjoyable.

Spent 3 nights here and highly recommend it! The rooms were huge and comfortable, especially the bed, that was a highlight. The bathroom was spacious which is always appreciated! Heated floors were so wonderful! Hotel is in a great location, right in the heart of Queenstown, couldn’t be better. Parking is valet only, there is nothing onsite due to the location. Hotel breakfast was a decent selection and pretty good, not my favourite personally but decent for sure. Being premium Accor members we took full advantage of the afternoon tea and canapés hour. The cheese boards and drinks were amazing! Highly recommend staying here

Beds are very comfortable. Pillow menu is a great addition.

Breakfast options could have been a bit better (hot and menu) but service was great.

Very friendly staff spa room was very clean we needed assistance working the plug which was rectified fast.. but chair at the end of bed had the lining dangling off it. Not really 5 star vibes & valet parking was $50 a day and to be honest annoying it’s not on site & they say give 10-15 min ahead of time to get car we waited close to 40 minutes not sure why as it definitely didn’t seem busy I probably should of asked for one day to be refunded as it cut into our holiday waiting for our hire car to be available from valet parking . I loved the little extra touches with our welcome drinks we got a mini bowl of popcorn & cashews. The hotel is in a great location you can walk to the famous ferburger & you can walk to the gondola where you can also ride the Luge which was a bit of fun.
