"A scam to the foreigners, my honeymoon is ruined. Please don’t come, waste of $$"

2.0

Long story short, the staff admitted that they had booked the wrong massage because they didn't understand what a deep tissue massage was in English. When I requested them to stop the massage immediately (just 4 minutes into it) because the pressure was too weak (even the lady tried all her strength), they charged us 50% of the massage fee as a cancellation fee. The room was very small considering the high price we had to pay. The pool was full of kids, and even as a guest, you might not be able to have dinner in the main dining…. I can understand these issues in a cheap hotel, but for an expensive hotel with very poor English-speaking staff and hypocrisy, it's unacceptable. I definitely won't stay there again. Side note: you are not allowed to stay next to the swimming pool to wait for the check in- you can only wait in a dark room.

"Great stay, amazing rooms, kind staff"

10.0

Amazing stay at this lovely picturesque hotel! The Staff was very friendly and kind, working hard to make our stay the best possible. We felt so cared for by the manager and the Staff. The in room dining experience was New to us but we loved it! The Beach was close by and they offered to drive us every day and pick us up whenever we wanted to. Would definitly reccomend to families and couples. We also tried the karate class and LOVED IT. It was one of the most fun things we have ever done on vaacation. Our sensei was amazing.

"Applying "Less is More" to a High-Price Hotel"

10.0

This was my first stay at a Hoshinoya property. Actually, I tried to book at other Hoshinoya properties in Japan but they were full. I had some trepidation because of some of the bad reviews on TA. My conclusion is that if you are not open to the approach this hotel takes, then things can go badly and you may end up checking out early to take refuge at the Ritz Carlton, Halekulani or Busena Terrace. The approach of this hotel is unique. Starting with reception, the way the process is set up you feel like you are entering a different world. The architecture of the property is stunning and you will be wowed on your first day and the first evening. The meal at the restaurant was theatrical and every course evoked “wows.” I stayed at “Tin” which is a standard twin. I was also travelling with my mom and her friend who stayed at the “Fushi” – the deluxe oceanfront suite. The rooms were very clean and inviting. Bathroom amenities were very full and the very thick futons were comfortable. The property itself is laid out in a 1.5 km stretch along the beach. Distances to the restaurant and spa can be long, so you can call a golf cart to transport you at any time. I stayed for two nights and three days and I would very much consider going back. I had a very nice stay. However, there are a couple of areas for improvement and ones of which guests should be aware. Restaurant menu – we pre-ordered the fixed menu for breakfast and dinner. The breakfasts (Japanese or Western option) are exactly the same every day. The dinner – some of the courses changes others do not. The second evening meal ended up being more underwhelming. Landscaping – I was surprised at how untidy the landscaping around the property was. There was plant/debris at many places and the beach itself gives an overall feeling of being unkempt. The rooms are not right next to the beach and the entry to the beach is through the nearby café. I ended up paying a lot because I reserved the suite and also the fixed dinners. For the money, I feel like there should have been more – perhaps some more interesting hotel activities, amenities or facilities. But I appreciate the fact that staying here has made me question the value I receive from a luxe property, whether they take a zen-like “less is more” approach like Hoshinoya, or the “more is more” approach of properties like the Ritz Carlton.

"paradise in Okinawa"

10.0

In August 2023, my family of three stayed at the accommodation. The room was spacious and clean, with a separate bedroom and a sunken hearth-style living and dining area that was very convenient. The view from the window was exceptional, allowing us to indulge in a world of escapism. There was no TV in the room, so all we could hear were the sounds of birds and waves. It was perfect for a digital detox. However, there was Bluetooth available, and the Wi-Fi worked smoothly, so with iPads or PCs, we could use the internet for streaming. Our children even enjoyed watching a late-night World Cup match in the living area. We dined at the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, and the food was delicious, served on lovely dishes. The staff had the perfect balance of approachability and professionalism, truly embodying the hospitality of a renowned establishment like Hoshino. The only minor issue was that while we had a quiet and peaceful time in our room, the restaurant was quite lively due to the presence of many families with young children. This might have been coincidental to the specific date and time we visited.

"Should you mind to stay here if plans."

2.0

Do not recommend this hotel much to others. There are no Sofa & TV in room. As such, I could not be able to relax at all as long as my son & wide got into bed. I understand this hotel would be nature friendly one however it would be better to let me know prior. Also it was inconvenient for everyone (guest & staff0 to transfer around by cart. Its cafe foods are worst ever. Do not try there. I have been all luxury hotels in the world and this one I can't rate as 5 star one. Although it was pricey too.
