Residence Inn by Marriott Albany East Greenbush/Tech Valley

We were disappointed in several things: - trash from previous guests was not taken out - no bed linens available in the room for sleeper sofa, even though in the reservation I mentioned that our party consists of three adults. We had to go to front desk and ask for it. - limited amount of towels, not enough for 3 adults - unpalatable breakfast - problems with plumbing in the room.

Thr room was very musty, mildew odor. One manager was rude. Staff were courteous

Clean and average accommodations. Staffing shortage caused us a late checkin due to room availability. Staff was friendly, just short handed.

Albany is a town of pretty run down hotels and restaurants, but business forces us to go there several times per year. We were hugely and pleasantly happy to find it about 5 years ago, and enjoyed staying in such a clean , upscale place and they had a food truck and nice bar and entertainment some evenings. Yesterday we looked forward to our planned stay, but John at the front desk was totally overwhelmed by an overweight lady whose credit card was out of money, and we had to wait for 15 minutes to start check in, then we found our room and it smelled so strongly of some kind of chemical that was to cover pet odor I think, and my wife’s nose reacted to pet dander I think, and the room was just awful from a shoddy cleaning. He had no rooms that were clean and so we left and went to another location. Of course we will never go back; what a disappointment. We count on Marriotts to be first class.

We stay here quite often because its close to my daughter and her family and also the price is right. It's an older hotel, so the furniture is a little worn, but it has always been impeccably clean and comfortable. Breakfast is decent and we always have a nice, quiet, restful night of sleep here!!

Have been a big fan of this hotel having spent lots of time here Pre-pandemic. This is my third trip since business travel returned for me and the first time I’ve been disappointed. Front desk person was unable to explain why my preferences couldn’t be accommodated as a platinum elite member. (Preference to be off first floor) so I switched with a colleague. My room’s air conditioner didn’t work but fortunately there was a room air conditioner. This should have been mentioned. Also the towels in my room seemed worn. This was a first for me and hoping the only as I stay here with some frequency.

It was a great suite and more than enough for our overnight stay. Property included many features we would have taken advantage of if we stayed longer!

the air conditioner vent on the ceiling covers the whole space but it’s hard to redirect the air from blowing in me while sleeping which I’m uncomfortable with.

1 night family trip. Pros: excellent, safe location. Front desk staff very quick and friendly. Room was clean, living space was spacious. Cons: Bedroom was very small, very little space to move around the bed. Room could use some TLC, paint chipping, ac/heat vent was clearly coming off on ceiling and when it kicks on it is VERY loud. Bed- absolutely not comfortable and the pillows were practically flat. If you are on the bottom floor, be prepared to hear lots of noise if children are upstairs. Breakfast was decent hotel breakfast. It is fine for a quick trip, but not sure it was worth the price.

Staff was awesome! Very friendly. Morning breakfast was excellent. The only item that should be fixed - all suites should have a king sized bed versus a std queen. Would make it more comfortable. Other than that - will definitely stay there again!
