Hempstead House Hotel

Enjoyed the hotels location and it was clean and tidy throughout. I wouldnt rate it as highly as other venues i have stayed at because it lacked some of the elements of a luxury hotel such as some of the staff seemed less helpful than others and the older side of the hotel could do with some tlc in places. A touch overpriced in my view but overall ok.

I was very disappointed with 2 things, during my 3 nights stay 1. Towels never been charged. 2. Never got my omelette despise waiting for 30 minutes. Thus I never had breakfast at the hotel during the 3 days stays.

Cramped attic room that was unfit for purpose as you could not walk round the bed safely or in an upright position.

Great little hotel. Friendly staff, great food and amenities. Room was spacious and clean. The only gripe we have is the farm smell that we couldn't seem to get to grips with.

We booked this hotel as it has a lift and my wife has trouble with stairs. Unfortunately our room was in part of the hotel that didn’t have a lift. We should have asked for a different room but we didn’t and that was our fault. The restaurant staff were all very friendly and looked after us well. The food was well cooked and extremely tasty. The spa was very nice. The room we were in could have done with a clean around the windows where there were quite a few cobwebs and dead flies. The pillows weren’t very comfortable. They could do with replacing. Our stay overall was very enjoyable and we would go back.

We stayed here as our first night off as mum and dad so was hoping for a good nights sleep. Was firstly disappointed with the greeting we received. We were not shown to our room just told where to go in this massive house we had never been in before !! The room was dark smelled dusty. Was woken up at 4am by stairs creaking and banging above and around us was so loud It kept us up from 4-8am I ended up going to reception at 8am nearly in tears because I was soo tired ! We spoke to another couple who also said there was a dog barking above them constantly from 9pm onwards the same night (we went for a meal so misses the barking luckily !) The staff were absolutely usless with helping me no manager came to deal with the matter I was just told either Icould have a £50 refund or complain !? Absolutely terrible standards especially running somewhere like this you would think guests would be made to feel like there staying in a 4 star and not a 2 star. Especially the money we paid for the room. Never coming back here and we will be telling our wide knit family and friends community about this place !

Absolutely stunning, beautiful hotel, very clean and grounds, all staff are polite helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. The gym is small but great for us. Definitely will stay here again.

We stayed in the Ashby Suite which was spacious and beautiful. The only criticism I could make is the sofa bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. All mod cons in the kitchen and a lovely seating area. Bathroom was spacious and modern. Spa facilities were fine and the staff were all friendly and attentive
