Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Lahaina & Napili Towers

The room was very nice. The grounds were great. I was very disappointed when I checked in the front desk didn’t give me any information about the welcome center. I was supposed to go there and get some kind of scratcher card with a chance to win and probably an option to do a timeshare presentation. Along with check in you’re supposed to get an owners card if you have a timeshare to get 10% off at the restaurant and bar at the facility along with about eight or nine others close by. . You’re also supposed to have an option to buy a wristband that you can wear that’s plastic and very nice. It’s basically a key to your room. I asked the gal at check in what it was and she said it’s a key to get pool towels, but you get one when you go to the pool . At the pool, it was a throwaway paper wristband and I found out from someone in the pool what it was so I ended up going back to the front desk and buying something that they should’ve sold me when I arrived . none of that was presented to me . The main issue is that they told me about this welcome center the day before I was leaving . Once I went to the welcome center I found out about a few things along with the owners card. I was pretty irritated. I spent $1100 at the hotel and I was supposed to get 10% off, but they would not give it to me because I didn’t present it at the time I purchased drinks and food at both restaurants which the owners card was supposed to apply 10% off . I definitely would’ve done it had I have known. I felt like that was a front desk issue. They’re not consistent with everybody. They also said someone was supposed to call me and ask me in my room to go to the welcome center, nobody did. I did contact the front desk and ask them to take the 10% off which all owners are supposed to get anyway and they refused to do it. everything was smooth except for they’re not consistent so you pretty much know what you’re doing when you get there so that you can take advantage of everything they have. Also, they told me that they were short staffed so they don’t have anybody that calls you before you come to ask any preferences or if you’d like to do a timeshare presentation etc. I had to call the front desk about a week before I came and that’s what they told me that they’re understaffed and they don’t call anybody. I was also disappointed because the card had about nine other restaurants on it and I ate at five of them and I bought everything I was supposed to buy to get the discount like free appetizers or dessert. I ended up buying appetizers and dessert how I have had the card when I arrived or at least a couple days after I would’ve been able to use it so not only did I lose the money at the hotel I lost, quite a bit of money at the restaurants that I ate at that were on the card . Least they could do is take the 10% off at the hotel since I missed the discount at the other restaurants.

Steps from a great beach to enjoy!

We stayed here for 4 nights and we LOVED it. The staff was very friendly and the property was amazing. The hotel has its own beach so there was very easy access to everything there. The parking building was very close to our hotel. I highly recommend this property if you want to relax and have all amenities close by. Beautiful property.

Our first room the hotel had checked us into was dirty and very small. We were able to switch rooms and upgraded to the one bedroom for more space at a cost. We had to go through Expedia to get a room change as their main office to make the changes are not on property and they were closed. We sent the photos to Expedia and they immediately assisted us with changing rooms. Pool is great for kids, ocean is a short walk, restaurants close by.

We’ve stayed at the Marriott Maui Ocean club twice a year for 15 years. It never disappoints. Kaanapali is the best place to stay on Maui.

We were in a 3 bedroom at the Napili tower, ground floor which initially frustrated me, but worked out beautifully. Easy access to the pool, bar, grills and beach without waiting on elevators. The views were a bit obstructed, but the convenience was worth the trade off. The kitchen is well equipped for most of your cooking and grilling needs, though the ice maker didn’t work very well. We had a maintenance issue with the AC, but it was promptly fixed when we called for help. Parking was easy and the pool bar cocktails were tasty. Starbucks on property is a big bonus, though you can make coffee in your room. The only thing that surprised me was hearing guests from the Hyatt next-door are at the pool, stating that because of the construction going on at their property, they were directed to come here as one of their options. As a presidential owner of 2 weeks here, I am more than a little surprised by this revelation. It explains the limited pool chairs that are available. We have had a wonderful time though and everyone is happy we came.

Our stay here was nothing short of amazing! The most friendly people at the check in counter, and the check in was super quick and informative. We were in the Lahaina tower and our room was spotless, the view was spectacular and this might be my new favorite resort on ka’anapali beach!

This is a review for MOC Napili Tower. Some reviewers are reviewing the wrong building. Napili and Lahaina Towers are NOT the old hotel towers. We own an Oceanfront unit that can be assigned as Napili or Lahaina Tower. We always request a High Floor, in advance. We got assigned an 8th floor in the Napili Tower. Perfect!! The high floor makes it easy to see whales, in season. We loved the huge picture window in the main room. Our unit is a 2 bedroom. We have a full kitchen and washer/dryer. We also own an Oceanview room in the old hotel. Obviously, the newer Lahaina and Napili Towers are nicer, and specifically built as Condos. I snorkel straight out from the beach activity center and then snorkel up and down the coast. Turtles and lots of fish. We also use the free pool chairs in the grass which give unobstructed views of the ocean. The resort is in an ideal location on Kaanapali Beach. Whaler’s Village is a short walk with many nice restaurants. If you reserve an Oceanfront room in either of these towers, you will have a great stay! #1 of 5 every time.

Suites were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Although I missed having a full kitchen, our family had a great experience! We loved every moment, and staff was super nice and helpful! The swimming pools were so nice, and we enjoyed them during the day and evening time. The week was a gift to us, and we couldn’t have been more thankful for a wonderful week!

I would have rated this a 5 but I did not like the room assignment. We paid extra for an Ocean Front 2BR villa. The view was more like an ocean view category. Half the view was the fishbowl view of the building next door. Ironically, Marriott categories the views at the other building as Ocean View even though they have exactly the same view we had but we paid thousands more in points. The balconies are small at this resort so we rarely used them. If we would have truly gotten an oceanfront view, the view would have been spectacular and worth every dime. The overall pro of this resort is the location. You can walk to Whaler’s Village, which is a fun place. The con of this resort is trying to get pool chairs but I guess that is a con at all the Maui resorts.
