The beach across street

Air conditioning loud, room not cleaned properly, staff, redness of manager, people smoking dope on balcony walkway and by pool, had to park in street. I was accused of smoking cigarette in room and that i did not do. Did not get deposit back. I cleaned both rooms and left no trash laying around. Dirty towels were all gathered up and put in one place . Would not recommend. Two people approached me wanting money . Bathroom sink was clogged in one room and had awful smell. Had to take hanger when I got there and clean out. Had to place a chair against front of air-conditioning panel to help keep it from rattling. Front desk was no help. I don't smoke in my own home and I had 3 grandkids with me and wouldn't smoke with them in room.. My grandkids were scared of the people hanging out doing things they shouldn't be doing. Workers were very unpleasant and the TV in one of the 2 rooms didn't work. The lady at front desk wouldn't let me speak with manager. They said she would call and didn't. I can't believe they would keep the $100 dollar deposit when there was no smoking in room. Just another way to get more money. Please be careful of surroundings

Room and bathroom were clean. Lamp bases and two kitchen chairs were rusty. Front desk clerk didnt seem to care if I was there, seemed more bothered that I had to check in than anything. Lots of adults and screaming kids running up and down the balcony hallway and screaming kinds in the pool until 11:30 PM. I called the front desk at 11 PM asking what time the pool closed because there were screaming kinds there and he said”oh they should be done soon”. I had to ask housekeeping a question and she was standing with other guests outside and she could not understand or speak any English. They ten proceeded to laugh and make me feel extremely stupid and like I was bothering them. Overall if you need a bed and a bathroom it’s ok. But don’t expect any respect, courtesy, or quiet or sleep.

The hotel is located right across the street from the beach in Galveston which provided an amazing view. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. The Mariner provided a great value for the location and is a place we would consider staying in the future.

This is a bit of an older hotel, and it's showing some wear and tear in some places. Parking is limited and, when full, made maneuvering a little difficult. Minimal dislikes considering the location and value.

Not much offered. Location was nice.
