Phuket Orchid Resort and Spa

Unfortunately we had the worst hotel experience here. And we have stayed in a lot of places. The rooms and facilities are old and run down. Pool areas and stairs rusty. Kids club terrible and nothing going on/ poor facilities. The main road is like a highway as soon as you step onto the street, so busy and crowded in this part of town. We booked direct with the hotel and were given a dark room in one of the older parts of the hotel and the damp/ mould smell was rank! I went down to the front desks the next day and asked to checkout, as we weren’t happy. They then offered us one of their newer rooms over near the kids pool. It was cleaner and no mould/ damp smell. That was ok but at 11pm that night the Russian families still let their kids in the kids pool despite it being closed from 9pm. We didn’t sleep and also found the pool crowded with Europeans who were rude and taking up l the sunbeds during the day. On our third day my middle daughter got food poisoning from pizza at the pool restaurant so we decided we were done. We forfeited 2 nights of our stay (which Miss Nancy said she would arrange a refund for us) but we never recieved the refund. Overall a disappointing experience and not a cheap stay either. We checked into the Marriott closer to the airport which was blissful and a much more enjoyable experience. We will never return to the Phuket orchid and never recommend it to anyone, it needs revamp an unsatisfied customers should have a right to be refunded when the facilities are not as promised (and definitely not what was in the photos)

really enjoyed my stay here. The hotel offers excellent service and great facilities. The room was bright, comfortable, and very clean. Housekeeping did a wonderful job every day. We loved our stay at Phuket Orchid resort. There was something for every age, from pools and water slides to swim up pool bars. There was everything we needed in walking distance including some market stalls, bars and restaurants and the beach, and it was really easy to get a tuk tuk to other areas. The rooms were really big and clean.

It was fantastic place especially if you have kids and who loves swimming and water slides Hotel staff is great and attentive and love to give soft toys to toddlers :) Just as a token of gratitude I would like to give my thanks to lilly, gift, netty , kaimook, melanie who helped us to change rooms as we have minor issue in the old room and thanks to sam for helping all the questions in the dining section as she was very fluent in english and I forgot the person name who always brought cantaloupe for my kid as that is the only fruit he eats eve it is not available in the buffet . Overall if you have kids and want to spend time in the pool and beach , just go ahead. Only remarks I have is dinner is below average , skip buying it for the entire stay as we did as there are few decent restaurants close by and kind of expensive bar

Fist of all - you get what you are paying for. This resort is huge and we were there in the high season. Good: the breakfast is nice, many options, the rooms are tidy, the staff is mostly smiling and friendly. The bar staff was looking a bit tired at times. The resort is close to the beach and 400 baht to Patong and the ride was pretty. The slides were fun! The starbucks cafe in the lobby - saved my day coffee wise - it was brilliant! The grounds of the hotel are well kept, beautifully green and lush Not so good: While the room was cleaned daily and kept nice and tidy, it smelled like mold, like very strongly. I never addressed it to the hotel while there, since both of our booked rooms smelled, i figured they wont be able to change it right then and there anyway. Today i unpacked my suitcase and alllll of my clothes smelled like mold. The sunbeds - since the hotel was fully booked - the mission of getting sunbeds after like 8am was mission impossible, people went out like 6:30-7 am to reserve the sunbeds and the only option to was to do the same. After day 3 i got up at 7, went downstairs, put my towels on sunbeds and went back up to keep napping- the hotel should really have some kind of system in place for this issue. Nobody is speaking about the general situation in this town and phuket in general - it is basically 95% russians, most signs are also in russian and even menues are translated into russian. They act like they own the place and it was really strange. But i guess it is what it is, considering the situation atm. Overall - it was a nice vacation. Not sure i would go again since we usually like smaller resorts, but for this year it worked its purpose - to get some warmth, sun and rest.

Great family vacation! Very friendly staff with smile on their face. Delicious food and nice waterslides. I had to have a business meeting and Ms. Nancy and Ms. Pumpui were very kind to let me use their class room to take that meeting in peace.

The hotel as a whole is super nice, with very nice lighting and atmosphere. However, the food is a complete disaster. Absolutely do not buy any food packages like we did. We tried the food four times but then threw away our food voucher as both the taste and cleanliness are poor around Buffer. We went with a stomach virus that kept us indoors for a week. VERY poor cleanliness. Service is great! If you want anything it takes 5-10min to get help with whatever.

I would not recommend this hotel. It is dated and in need of improvements throughout. Location good and near nice restaurants and coffee places. Room felt damp.

I would especially like to say a big thank you to Joh in the reception and her fantastic colleagues and manager for making our experience fantastic this year too! We celebrated our 60th and 80th birthdays this year and you have made sure we had a fantastic holiday! The hotel is very suitable for families as there is a fantastic pool area and close to the beach. But it is a hotel that also suits us a little older as there are no heights and nice walking paths. very good breakfast with lots to choose from and in the evenings there is entertainment, there are also pool evenings etc. Very good hotel that is highly recommended!
