Travelodge by Wyndham Wytheville

This Wytheville property sports an historic feel. Quiet location, easy parking. The room, sheets, bed, hot water and small well-drying towels were good for the cost. Though with building proper not locking I do feel the room rate was about $10-$15 too high.

The room was large and provided a good sleep for myself and family

The desk was unattended when I arrived and I needed to wait at least 5 minutes for someone to arrive. There was also a musky smell in the hotel room.

You can't beat it for the Price

Nothing at all sadly. This stay has stopped us booking any Travelodge in the future. The online images are nothing like the reality. The room was in need of major refurbishment and was grimy. The corridor had 3 ice machines with only one sort of working and a vending machine nearly empty. We had an issue with the patio door not closing so were worried about safety. The reception staff member just seemed annoyed when we asked for help. He said he would be straight over but took 29 minutes and we watched him wandering over on his phone. Sadly his attitude at check-in and the following morning were also apathetic. The job seemed a chore and he was unfriendly at every encounter. Perhaps a career change is needed!

Clean, quiet, nice bed. What more do you need while on a road trip. Breakfast was ok too. The usual with some fresh apples and oranges and hard boiled eggs.
