"Cute but SO SO SO SO SO SO SO LOUD"

2.0

it is 4:30 in the morning and I haven't been able to sleep a wink because of how loud the karaoke bar is next door. It sounds like these terrible singers are literally IN my room. I can't even imagine having a child at this hotel. What an absolute nightmare of an experience trying to get ANY sleep. My room is really nice but I can not write enough how glad I am to have only have booked one night. This place is NOT for sleeping whatsoever. I feel bad that management receives bad reviews from a bar that is next door but this is BEYOND unacceptable.

"Totally money worth"

10.0

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. Clean and big rooms, great location, a walking distance from the pier to cozumel, the main street of playa and even a Walmart. Alberto from the front desk was great to us! Gave us wonderful tips and was very kind.

"Close but not too close to the action"

10.0

This Adobe style hotel is great. Friendly staff, Antonio helped us with everything. The hotel is a hop and skip to 5th ave and the beach, but it is far enough away to avoid loud music from Playa del Carmen in the early morning hours when you're trying to sleep.

"A good value for the price "

Located in a perfect place near the main street and next to the beach but still relatively quiet. Rooms and clean. Parking and wifi included. Breakfast is basic ( bread, butter and some fruits)

"Friendly option"

10.0

I recently stayed a couple of nights in PDC in Barrio Latino Hotel with my cousin. I would recommend it to anyone trying to escape the resort-like hotels in the area and party-oriented hostels. You will still be near all the parties and the beach - for better and worse - so for those who can’t sleep in noisy areas, beware. The staff was incredibly sweet and helpful, we really felt very welcome and supported. Our only pet-peeve was the breakfast which offered limited options and most of it was gone by 9 (even though breakfast runs until 10ish).

"Central location, cozy, friendly stuff. Overall ok"

8.0

Overall, my stay was pleasant. The stuff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, happy to explain everything about the town and recommend activities. The location is central, just a few minutes by foot from the ADO station. My bed was very comfortable, and each room has a little balcony facing the courtyard, with a hammock. That was really great. However, there were some cons that need to be mentioned: 1. The central location means it can get noisy at night. This is not the hotel's fault, of course, but be aware that just a block away there is a very loud rooftop club, that plays loud music to the very late hours of the night. 2. Unlike other hotels in Mexico, there is no place to get purified water. You can ask the stuff at breakfast to do it for you, and they probably will but not with a smile. 3. Breakfast itself: it is, as the stuff put it, a continental breakfast. You get coffee, a fresh pastry with butter and jam, and that's mostly it. No vegetables, or even fruit. They do offer yogurt and a freshly squeezed lime juice, but you can't even toast the pastry, not to mention getting eggs. More than one morning I found myself completing my breakfast somewhere else. 4. As in a lot of places in Mexico, the shower has only an American-style, unadjustable shower head. I personally hate that.

"Beautiful, serene and really great price!"

10.0

I spent one week at Barrio Latino Hotel last May, 19 . As a solo traveler, I really liked the door locked and the 24/7 desk service, where local recepcionists had a lot of ideas to enjoy my stay all around, The Hotel Barrio Latino is in the best area of Playa del Carmen, surrounded by a large number of great eateries, coffees, and even small Mayan ruins! Transportation is easy and unexpensive all around. Noise was not an issue to me, I am not a light sleeper but I was a little bit worried because of few other reviews. There are two restaurants and a spot with small bars at the corner, but recorded music ended early at night and wasn' t loud at all ; I spent several hours walking in the tropical garden or surfing the web ( great wifi by the way) , and meeting beautifull young europeans and clients from all over the world . Next time I will visit Mexico I will stay again at the Barrio Latino Hotel!

"Good"

2.0

Property is located next to night venues, so noise is a problem. Not for anyone with light sleep or with babies. Rooms are small palapas, so not fully sealed and this contributes to mosquitos and noise contamination. Some of the staff is friendly. Parking is limited to about 6/7 vehicles. But located a few blocks from 5th Ave and the ferry station. I used it as a layover option, but ended up moving to another hotel due to noise.
