Prentiss House by Thatch

Location was perfect.

Configuration of the bathroom was a bit off from function.

Tastefully decorated, comfortable bed, fantastic coffee machine, lovely patio to sit, great location, enjoyed historical story, keyless entry, refrigerator in room, happy hours,sooo quiet for being all booked.

Needed a bit more shelving in bathroom.

They don’t have a customer service, reception, nothing. If you have a problem, you can’t talk with anyone.

Pretty place. Very walkable. Shared living space in main house was delightful.

We got two rooms. Our daughter was in Room #16 and really liked it. We were in Room #20 (next door house) and absolutely froze. We texted the staff. They were little help. They wouldn’t fix the space heater in the room. They just told us where to find more blankets.

Staying in a National Historic designated 20 room house was like staying in someone's home. Very well renovated and some thoughtful upscale touches. That wallpaper was devine. Loved our room with the round window!!! The neighbour was wonderful too.

Understand extra parking charge as there aren't enough spaces for the rooms but the extra cost put our stay over what we thought we would be paying.

great location, updated, clean

steep stairs. the house is very charming but carrying luggage to 3rd floor wasn’t convenient. the description was clear to explain that there are stairs so not unexpected. the 2nd flight was just a bit steep.

The location was convenient for me.

No elevator. Stairs are narrow with low banister and dangerous to navigate with luggage. No staff at all to help you. The text message center / remote office is more of a property management center and has no sense of guest service. The bed was unusually uncomfortable. The mattress sank in the middle and felt like an old style spring box. All of the pillow cases had yellow stains. Water pressure was bad and the heavy metal hook on the bathroom door dropped on my foot. Photogenic but overall wonky and unsafe. Unpleasant having to repeatedly request assistance, wait and not get it. I have stayed at 4 different hotels in Cambridge, and considering the price point, this was by far the worst choice in the area.

Location is fantastic, just off Massachusetts Avenue on a quiet side street. All of Cambridge very walkable with wonderful coffee shops, bars and restaurants, and history galore. The room was spacious and spotless. The bed was comfortable. The place is quiet with no traffic noise. Great WiFi.

There is no elevator, so I had to get my two oversized bags up to the 3rd floor on my own (and back down again). Not really a criticism, as the staircases are lovely and add to the charm of the place. I'm just old.

The house is charming and the location is good for access to Harvard Law School.

I was bombarded with repetitive emails once I booked the room -- about five per day for a week. Many had tiny print that could not be read on a phone. Also, the air-conditioning unit in the room was ineffective; I had to open the windows to keep the room cool enough for sleeping. Finally, there was a bizarre online "security check" that I failed for no given reason, forcing me to email a photo image of my passport twice, as the first email was somehow lost by the Prentiss people.
