Daintree Ecolodge

Oui c’est génial d’être perché dans sa cabane en pleine forêt tropicale. De dormir sans fenêtre (fenêtres à lames orientables), protégée par les moustiquaires partout. D’être bercée par un cours d’eau, le coassement des grenouilles, des cris d’oiseaux et que sais-je encore. Mais il faut apprécier l’humidité. Rien ne sèche. Une nuit aurait été largement suffisante. D’autant que ce qu’il y a à voir se situe surtout de l’autre côté de la Daintree River. Il faut un bon anti moustique et ça va très bien.

Petit déjeuner inclus plutôt maigre pour un établissement de cette gamme de prix (715$AU). Deux œufs au plat sur une tranche de pain non beurrée et un peu d’émincé de poulet grillé nappé d’une sauce yogourt épicée (délicieuse). Un bol de melon et de pastèque (les deux jours idem). Basta. Lorsque que j’ai demandé si je pouvais prendre les pancakes (par gourmandise), ben non. Pas même proposés avec supplément. Je les ai pris de lendemain, bien grands mais trop gras et trop sucré. C’est un chouïa prétentieux mais assez sympathique.

We stayed 2 nights at Daintree Ecolodge and it’s the perfect place to switch off and unwind. There are no TVs, which really adds to the “disconnect and relax” experience. Breakfast was lovely each morning, with great coffee. We also did the walking tour with Rob, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the local plants and wildlife - highly recommend it. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant one night, which was very good. The complimentary laundry service was a really appreciated extra, and there’s plenty of parking available. We made use of the swimming pool during our stay and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. It’s only a short drive to Daintree Village, where you can do crocodile river tours, grab a crocodile burger at the local café, or visit the pub (although it has limited dinner hours). It’s also a short drive to the Daintree ferry crossing if you’re heading over to Cape Tribulation. The staff at Daintree Ecolodge were all so welcoming, helpful, and genuinely lovely throughout our stay. Tip: Don’t forget bug spray!

Beautiful boutique resort with spacious, individual treehouse style bungalows completely enclosed to protect guests from mosquitos. Property has a small natural swimming hole as well as man made swimming pool. Breakfast is included and was lovely - the attention to detail with organic style ceramic crockery was great. Staff are wonderful! Laundry, tea, coffee, linen, umbrellas, bathrobes and slippers are included. At the time we booked, this property was quite a bit more expensive than other options in the Daintree but it was evident why and is great for a special occasion.

Nothing! There are mosquitoes so be prepared with long loose clothing. The rooms are fully enclosed with fly wire and staff light mosquito repellent lamps at the restaurant area so this isn’t a major issue.

The rooms are beautiful and clean. Staff are lovely and the views from the rooms were magnificent. Breakfast each morning was delicious.

Minor detail but more hanging space in the bathroom for two towels would be good.

Beautiful, clean, special property with exceptional food and incredible staff. I cannot fault this place. Highly recommended!!

Loved everything!!

The location is Brillant - right in the rainforest and with easy access to Daintree Village. The staff made it -they were so friendly and helpful, and fun. The food was exceptional.

Bedhead kept tipping over when sitting up in bed - needs greater support

This was a wonderfully unique hotel in a rainforest! It was easy to find, but you'll definitely need to rent a car to get there. The staff was both friendly and helpful. Our room looked over a small creek and lots of lots of green plants and trees. My only negative thought is that I would have liked to have seen the room a bit cleaner from mold growing in the window sills and corners. Otherwise, we had an incredible stay. Bed was very comfortable and the rest of the room was very clean. The food at Julambya restaurant was second to none! Two dinners, two breakfasts and a lunch...all were spectacular! We highly recommend this for a unique rainforest stay.
