Homewood Suites by Hilton Somerset

We were due to check in on September 16 for 2 nights and have stayed at this hotel many times in the past. When we arrived ,we immediately noticed a BIG change and definitely NOT for the better.Hotel had a foul Oder and carpeting was wrinkled and ripped in the lobby.Desk clerk was very rude and definitely didn’t care about the customer.We were told that the hotel is now under a new management team and obviously it shows.We had a prepaid reservation and they demanded,an extra $100 per night incidental fee. Absolutely insane. I contacted the hotel manager by the name of Scott who is the assistant gm.His reply was if you don’t like our policy,Then LEAVE.We have never been treated so rudely as we were at this hotel.We had to contact customer care at Hilton and get them involved and we immediately checked out before we ever went to the room.No way was I going to pay an extra $200 on top of what we already paid.The old management by the name of Aaron Mcduffy always treated us like family and with respect.The incidental fee used to be just $50 but now they have doubled it..Also,How convenient that no front desk agents wear a name tag. I hope this hotel is thoroughly investigated and this management belongs out of there before they run it out of business.This hotel just lost 2 good customers. I hope they are happy with themselves.We will never return.

Property in excellent condition, staff very helpful and friendly. Bed a bit too soft, could not sleep very well, breakfasts were excellent. Fire alarm went off 3 times one night, very disturbing and could not sleet at all that night.

The breakfast provided had a good selection. The end time during the week should have been 10am. Overall size of room was good. The supplies in the room not sufficient. An extra tissue box would have been helpful. The toilet paper wasn't angel soft. Toilet seat was way too close to the floor. Our air condition in the bedroom didn't work/get cold, it was reported to the front desk. The carpet/rug in the hallway wasn't straight; it had lumps in it. This is a hazard if you used a cane or wheelchair. Curtains in the rooms weren't on the rods, had to overlap to close them. Finally, fire alarm went off 3x in the early hours which is supposed to when a problem (no fire) happens. However, when asked by the front desk all he said was it saved your life didn't it. Very rude and no acknowledgement of what I said. I asked what caused the alarm to go off. Would not recommend..

Room was great. It was all that We needed. The breakfast was excellent. Thanks to the staff.
