Bath Street Inn

It was an older building, but I chose this place for the specific characteristics.

I loved the decor of my room, great quality sheets and bedding and great local soaps/ toiletries.

My Sweetie and I were driving the Pacific Coast Highway. We needed a place to spend one night. The Bath Street Inn is lovely! We enjoyed complimentary wine and dessert when we arrived. The breakfast was amazing: yogurt with granola and fruit, a poached egg, and croissant French toast. The Inn is located on a quiet street in a pretty neighborhood.

This was my 1st experience at a B & B and I really enjoyed it. I was in Santa Barbara for a celebratory weekend and had the cutest old-fashioned room. It had flowering wallpaper, a pot-bellied gas heater, a balcony, and a wrought-iron bed. In the main part of the Inn, in the small dining area off the living room, they had a table with tea bags, hot chocolate, coffee, board games, and every evening they set out three different cakes. Breakfasts were outside in the back patio that was surrounded by flowering vines. The only slightly difficult part of my stay was that the ladies who served breakfast only spoke Spanish so everyone struggled a little to communicate with them.

This is based on our stay in Susan's Loft at the Bath Street Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If you stay in Susan's loft, we definitely recommend it for people 5'7" and under ;-). In order to create this great space, they had to work with the angles of the roof since it is a loft. So the the shower is narrow and with a slant to the roof so that at a certain height you need to lean or bend if you are taller. The same goes for the toilet. The space is quaint and one of it's nicest features is the balcony that faces the mountains and towards the coastline (though you can't really see the ocean, or at least we couldn't see it). The room feels very private and since your in the loft there is no one above you or next to you. Vicky who ran the kitchen and her fellow staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. They addressed my dietary needs for breakfast, and the breakfast was tasty and huge, plus there were nibbles available during the day. We really enjoyed our breakfast underneath the wisteria vines. We were not able to take advantage of the wine happy hour, but the lobby had many spaces to sit and be comfortable, and we socialized late at night with some of the guest. The location was great for walking into town, and there was ample parking out back though there is unmetered parking on the street as well. A lovely and enjoyable stay.

Loved this place! Had the Balcony Room on 2nd floor. Small room with very small bathroom, but it didn't matter--so cozy and cute! Door opens up to nice little balcony overlooking residential street. Great gourmet breakfast and array of cakes and cookies in afternoon. Very nice staff too.

The place was charming and well cared for. The flowers were blooming everywhere. The outdoor patio was lovely. The breakfast was bountiful and tasty. Truly fresh and healthy and delicious.

My only critique is that I had not anticipated the many stepping across grass, front porch steps , and then a long steep stairway to my room. Since it was self check in, there was no one to help me with my suitcase. A generous younger person helped me up the stairs or I would not have made it

What a great stay! The ladies who run the place are so sweet and attentive. The place is clean and cute. Breakfast was so tasty and filling! The location is perfect. We didn't use our car at all, we walked to downtown and did all the sight seeing we wanted of Santa Barbara.
