"Reliable, professional safe and wonderful staff"

10.0

I love this hotel. I've been staying here for work trips to Iquitos for years. The rooms are always spotless and the breakfast, included in the price, is good. Interior rooms are quieter. The staff have all worked there for years and can offer excellent advice on anything you might need in Iquitos. Book directly for best prices.

"Great Location but watch out Iquitos is the wild west"

6.0

I stayed here last year 2 days before an amazon trip and 3 days afterwards. This Hotel is clearly the best nice hotel for the money. They cook made to order breakfast daily the staff is attentive and helpful. Very close to everything but kind of on the edge of everything which makes it quiet. Be very careful in Iquitos. I was walking back from the market in a new pair of sandals so I decided to catch one of the three wheel motorcycle cabs that are everywhere because the new shoes were rubbing blisters. I jumped in one of these cabs and knew instantly he wasn't taking me to my hotel he took me to a secluded area stopped jumped out and demanded all my cash. Long story short I threw about 15 american on the ground. He stooped down to pick it up and I jumped into another cab that was still moving. This guy followed me all the way back to the hotel. There is virtually no law in Iquitos. It is legal to carry a six inch blade so the rest of the time I had that proudly on my hip. No more problems.

"Pleasant place to rest for a night"

8.0

We stayed at Hotel Acosta for a night before heading into the Amazon. This hotel had air conditioning in the rooms which was a huge bonus. The hotel is within walking distance of many of the sites of Iquitos. We were able to walk to the river and have afternoon drinks, walk to a great museum on indigenous people and walk to a local pub to watch a Copa Cup game.

"Iquitos is an interesting place"

6.0

The hotel was a good value but not for everyone, just like Iquitos. Pro's, very nice staff. Good breakfast, only several blocks from the waterfront and the happening part of town. Cons, it's right on the edge of the nicer part of Iquitos and not a terribly pretty part of town. Ask the staff for the direction of the water and the plaza and walk that way as the wrong direction puts you in a less desirable area. Room was clean but nothing fancy and not recently updated. It was a good value and I'd recommend it to travelers who can handle fewer amenities than most 3star hotels offer. We stayed here prior to our Amazon ecolodges and it was a good transition.

"Good budget hotel option"

6.0

We were a little nervous when we saw the barred security door on the entrance to the hotel, but inside the staff were helpful, the rooms clean and beds comfortable and the breakfast buffet was good. This is definitely a no-frills option- if you want a pretty room look elsewhere- but for us the price, included breakfast, and shuttle to airport at end of our stay were worth it. We had an interesting experience one morning where we found ants (quite common in Iquitos) had discovered one of the platters on the breakfast buffet- when we pointed it out to the kitchen staff we were pleased to see that they not only got rid of the ants and cleared the platter but cleared the whole buffet and reset everything.

"Convenient, air conditioned Hotel"

8.0

Iquitos is a noisy, hot, humid place and this hotel was a welcome refuge. It does not have a restaurant for dinner, but the central plaza and and amazon river are only a few blocks away. Although the street was very busy, the hotel was pretty quiet. We had a room in the back. The rooms have a room air conditioner, which was really welcome and allowed us good sleep. There is a small in room refrigerator stocked with water, beer, etc. The prices were very reasonable. Water was 2 soles. Less than I paid in many street locations. Breakfast was good. The staff was very helpful to us. I would stay there again if I ever went back.

"Free Airport shuttle"

6.0

Nice hotel, Relatively clean, close to the Iquitos 'downtown' square. (10 minute walk or less.) Mostly need to walk into square to find amenities, cafes, etc, although there are some closer to the hotel. Best feature of the stay was the free, (with e-mail pre-arrangement) shuttle from the airport to the hotel. Morning breakfast was OK. Stayed there twice in two weeks' time and the first stay was a more 'full' breakfast, second just had some toast and deli meats. Not much for a vegetarian. Overall the hotel was decent and prices pending I would stay there again.

"OK, but noisy room"

8.0

Room was small and basic, but comfortable enough: air conditioner kept the room at a nice temperature. Bed was just OK. Main problem was the noise: my room overlooked one of the busier streets in Iquitos and so was very noisy from dawn to night. But most of the centrally situated hotels in Iquitos are like this, so I would recommend earplugs or noise cancelling headphones. Friendly staff and an efficient free shuttle to and from the airport.

After checking the hotel on hotels.com and the casa Andina website, it seems like this hotel was over sold. Disappointing
