The Lodge at Bodega Bay

BEWARE - We had a wonderful two-night stay at the Lodge at Bodega Bay. The hotel, room and location were beautiful; the staff were very kind and helpful during our stay; we dined at the restaurant for both nights and breakfast, and the food was great; we took the meditation and pilates class and used the sauna and exercise facilities which could not have been better; and their recommendations for restaurants and hikes in the area were perfect. We checked out on Sunday completely happy and ready to recommend the hotel and come back one day. The following day, we got a $1092 charge for damages to the room. They said we burned the television! I called immediately and said we were only in the room to shower and sleep and there was absolutely no way the damages came from us. There was a starter log in the fireplace below the TV that they left there for us to burn. We burned the log the last night as we watched a movie but followed all the directions to do so and did not notice any excessive flame. I called as soon as we got the email and stated we could not have caused the damage and asked if they would call a fire marshall to inspect the burn, knowing that an inspection would show that the fire must have come from the log or an electrical problem in the TV, but the room had already been cleaned and the TV replaced. They insisted we burned something else that ruined the TV, which I categorically deny. I disputed the charge on my CC and filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, but do not expect it to go anywhere. It is so disappointing and frustrating after such a lovely visit and I feel like we were set up. So if you go, whatever you do, DO NOT burn the log in the fireplace!

Beautiful views and ambience. Room was nice and quiet. It was nice to be able to enjoy the pool and hot tub later in the evening. Will highly recommend.

Beautiful and spectacular views! Pool area and infinity hot tub was an amazing treat after an afternoon of biking to the resort.

Beautiful trip. We were there Thursday through Sunday. Relaxation began as soon as we stepped foot on property, I was immediately greeted by sea air and a wine and cheese tasting. The fun continued from there. Dinner at Drake’s was fabulous. Woke up early and was greeted by the most magical sunrise. The pool is fabulous and the spa is nice, but nothing to write home about. The service is nice, the people are attentive but it’s a bit hands off. Don’t expect a butler or concierge service or waitstaff passing drinks by the pool. Overall relaxing, beautiful and romantic. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Although the view from our room was fabulous. The price to stay per night very expensive. The spa services very expensive and only lasted 50 min not 1 hr. The staff at restaurant and bar play favorites to other VIP. We spent $2,500 for 2 nights but apparently we were not considered VIP.

Beautiful grounds, great property. Big sized room and most of all great service! Slightly away from the main streets and town which made it very peaceful and it faces the bay. Highly recommend!

Our business event was thoroughly positive in large part to the exceptional staff and facilities at the Lodge at Bodega Bay. From the front desk and bell staff to our servers at Drakes and the banquet staff and food for our group meals, everything was perfect! 10 out of 10!
