The Runnymede on Thames Hotel and Spa

This hotel will be excellent once refurbished- there is considerable building work at the moment. Refurbished rooms are good as are the views of the river, food, bar and facilities

Lovely setting amazing staff … a shame there is building work but this is suppose to be finished soon. We will definitely be returning.

Sadly the building work going on meant we couldn't enjoy the balcony on our river view room, the noise and view meant it wasn't pleasant, I hand tread the very note about building work hidden on the page. Sadly the air con didn't work in our room, and the lady on reception was quite room, luckily the duty managed obtained us a fan and offered us a discount, not ideal but better than nothing. The room was nicely decorated and the bed comfy.

Lovely hotel on the River Thames - newly renovated rooms over looking the river - some have balconies or Juliet balcony. Rooms are not large but adequate for a few nights. Lounge and outside terrace also very nice

Clean and comfortable and a large room. Was disappointed in restaurant offering (buffet only) and no room service options. TV in the room regularly froze.

The hotel is being refurbished but this was well managed and communicated, had no issues with noise etc but the change to a Warner hotel is evident in standards of service. I had to complain at breakfast because after arriving to find no clean tables, I was treated very rudely by a staff member who shouted across the room at me, bringing attention to the fact I was travelling alone and was very grumpy at being asked to clear a table by the window for me (since the hotel’s USP is the amazing view of the river, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that guests want that view!) Two other couples arrived and had the same battle. It took three asks to get tea + cup + milk so I was very disappointed - the manager I spoke to did apologise and spoke to the staff member but a refund of breakfast would have been appreciated as the service was very disappointing. Spa was lovely and the members of staff in the lounge area were brilliant and even though they were training new people it was evident that they were being taught a high level of customer service. Reception was hit and miss - there was an issue where the hotels.com discount wasn’t communicated to the hotel but they handled this by refunding me the difference when I checked out. The lady I dealt with was not friendly or well trained to deal with issues and other staff members had to step in to help. Overall disappointing for somewhere with a reputation for high standards, the hotel itself is lovely and clean but the service lacking.

The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment but this wasn’t really an issue as the works are confine to areas where guests are not allowed into. In addition the hotel kept us updated prior to our arrival.

Beautiful spot and lovely service. There construction but the overall experience was amazing. Food is great and the spa services were a bargain.

This was our second stay here in a the space of a few months. The upgraded rooms are really nice. This stay was by far much better than last time. The breakfast was fantastic and the spa was really nice.

Had a great stay with my sister. We used the spa facilities, had a snack and a drink at the bar. Was a lovely experience. I would definitely stay again Great location!
