Bluegreen Vacations Shenandoah Crossing, an Ascend Collection Resort

It was a wonderful stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. My kids enjoyed the activities room(making soaps and candles). We use RCI exchange for the 3 bedrooms townhouse units. It is beautiful, love the interior design. It was a relaxing stay!!!

When checking in, we were provided wrist bands to denote we were guests; those wrist bands remained in our unit and were never used! We had been advised that if we did not use the amenities(closed pool, exercise room, etc) then the $184.31 weekly fee dd not apply. Again: we did not use ANY resort services yet we received a checkout statement reflecting the $184.32 USD fees were charged to our credit card. In our CDN currency this translates to an additional vacation cost in excess of $240.00. Absurd! This resort was recently taken over by Hilton Hotel group and I joined HHonors point program over thirty years ago. This m=highly misleading action will impact future choices in resort and hotel bookings as we had already paid the weekly rental charge assessed by RCI/Wyndham.

We chose this place for a winter week stay because it offered wood burning fireplaces in their cabins, which we used constantly. We stayed in #41, a grand cabin overlooking the lake with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We were expecting something more rustic and were pleasantly suprised it had hotel-like amenities with nice towels and bath product dispensers, etc. Kitchen a bit small, but serviciable. Staff pleasant and helpful if you needed anything. You can buy firewood at the general store, but MUCH cheaper if you buy it right down the raod at Branmar Forest Products, which we did once we ran out of the wood we had brought from home. Also, if you're out driving around, check out Bavarian Chef for dinner in Madison. Ask for a cabin on the lake: #43,44, 45 were perhaps the best situated that we saw. All in in all a lovely stay, and we'd happily go back.

I loved the homey feeling the hotel gave, we absolutely loved the self serve hot drinks and although it could definitely get better by having clean pools I loved it !

Staff was exceptional! Kept trying to work through problems with the rooms. Did not give up until we were satisfied!

Two different rooms in the lodge were inadequate. Floors were slanted and squeaky. One lamp in the room, no place to lay items, tub didn’t drain properly, and not one chair to sit in.

Place was beautiful. Cabins good, spacious.

I’m been charge extra $400 and some chains, I call property, I was told manager will come back next day. It been 2 weeks and nobody has reach me back. I have reach out property twice.
