Bluegreen Vacations Shenandoah Crossing, an Ascend Collection Resort

Have stayed at the resort many times over the 16 years since buying our membership at Shenandoah. The location is somewhat remote, but very beautiful. A fair amount of good activities, but with what we pay in membership costs and annual fees (started at $450 and up to $850 a year now for only 1600 points), the cost to take part in some of these activities is definitely a bit much. The reviews I have seen on the yurts bore out in that you do need to be prepared for early sunrise blazing in the the sunlight dome at sunrise lighting up the whole yurt and you can easily hear your yurtong neighbors through the walls. Also, while the shower is very nice and spacious, the shower head barely moved. Otherwise the yurt was something I would definitely do again, just being a little more prepared for those issues. However, unfortunately, we went to ride horses and came back to a cockroah sitting in middle of my pillow! I get it, outside living kind of. But, with that, and my son saying ants were crawling all over the hideaway couch all night, bugs are a problem that need to be dealt with by the resort.

Hot tub was closed the entire time. Pool did not have a working heater so kids had to TRY and swim outside, our room had a moldy smell to it, there was no ice on our floor it was in the basement. We came down to relax and have the Resort experience but had a major let down....I am currently asking for a full refund - and I never do that

Good location but cabin needed deep cleaning, especially the floors. Bathroom is inconvenient with odd things like toilet paper on opposite wall that children would not be able to reach and not enough towel bars or hooks. Cable TV quality was very poor.

Hot tub and pools were out of order for 2 weeks. Restaurant was awful. There was never a basketball available we had to buy one.

There is plenty to do at the resort & neighboring area. Resort was well maintained considering the winter is just ending.

It was a wonderful stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. My kids enjoyed the activities room(making soaps and candles). We use RCI exchange for the 3 bedrooms townhouse units. It is beautiful, love the interior design. It was a relaxing stay!!!
